And that seems consistent with the stories many of them tell about the nature of their lives if/when they were involved in the so-called "gay lifestyle." They have just substituted religious addiction for one or more others, and are probably not even aware of their addictive personalities. Religious addiction would seem nearly impossible to recognize by those involved because, after all, "how could living to please a god ever be wrong?" There is nothing quite like having the backing of a god to provide certainty to the rightness of your opinions and actions. And that is what makes religious addiction so insidious. It's sort of true, on some level - you're not feeling attracted to the opposite sex, only the same sex. But their basic misunderstanding of addiction equates simple attraction to life-interupting destructive habits.
