I don’t think Palin is a typical Republican; she’s a typical person who — regardless of political affiliation — is too busy or too disinclined to challenge oneself with facts contrary to one’s presuppositions.

I don’t know of anything that would connect Palin or her husband to the KKK now or in the past. They seem too shallow and image-conscious to stake out such a strong, emphatic position on most issues.

Even on the topic of abortion, they seem incapable of saying — simply and strongly — what they mean.

Great post! Sarah is a typical Republican, demonstrating how uneducated she is on this and other issues. Sarah and Todd would likely have belonged to the KKK a few decades back and they exemplify prejudice and intolerance pushed by James Dobson and the Right Wing movement of fear and ignorance. But they do generate millions of dollars using these factors.

I DOUBT that Palin has any gay friends at all. She is saying that her gay friend made a “choice”. I’m sure that her “friend” would not appreciate saying things untrue behind her back.

Palin is a moron if she thinks she can get her point across this way. Anyone who is really gay, would never say they chose to be, so she is most likely lying to appear more tolerant.

I think it’s directed to those “Christians” that say, “homosexuality is wrong but don’t judge.” Christians are now becoming less judgemental of homosexuals even if they don’t accept homosexuals and are saying “we shouldn’t appear as though we hate them or are judging them because that makes us look bad too……”

Palin is MOST LIKELY trying to reach THOSE people!

Palin uses the oft-used “I have LOTS of gay friends” line that many use in an effort to make themselves appear tolerant. The same line is tailored often by racists, anti-semites, etc. for the same purpose. “I have LOTS of black friends, but…” “I have LOTS of Jewish friends, but…” etc etc etc. Probably trying to convice HERSELF as much as others that she is ok with them gays! Grow up, Palin and all other religious nuts…LGBT folks just ARE. It is not a choice. Grow up, toss your myths and superstitions into the trash heap of the past where they belong, and embrace the future!
