LOL Barry - that's pretty sad (about the "ex-gays" checking you out) - reminds me of a TWO story from another guy, who said his "ex-gay" men's group would go to the mall to check out all the men there.

Luckily I've always been pretty assertive and done whatever the hell I wanted to starting at a young age LOL, and even though my family pushed me into my brief "ex-gay" experience, I never actually got to the point of going to any meetings.

When the initial "ex-gay" DOCTOR was interested in nothing else but hearing about my so-far sexual experiences, I knew right then these people were nothing more than idiots and lunatics.

And I was right.

I once went to Exodus to try and change from gay to straight also. The reparative therapy suppressed my homosexual tendencies and so I did not "act out" on them. But because I was never straight and I did not like girls at all, then I sorta became like asexual. I wanted a relationship with another guy, but I was taught that was wrong, so that was a no-go. And I still did not have any feelings for girls, so that was a no-go too. I cut myself, drank, and did drugs. My friend caught me trying to kill myself, but before I got too far, he stopped me. I saw a REAL therapist afterwards and since then, I'm living my life as a happy, openly gay individual.

Holiness is not heterosexuality or homosexuality. Holiness is attaianble only through the blood of Christ. To force people to think holiness in not drinking a beer, wine, having a relationship that is committed whether homosexual or heterosexual or smoking is only a list of do's and dont's. The same people that tort these expressions have we ever noticed that they are overweight and do not care for themselves physically? The Bible does point out that the body of Christ is the temple of the Holy Spirit so does the Holy Spirit want to live in a drab, overweight, unhealthy body? The leader of exodus is fooling himself and others. I would like to be in his mind at night when he goes to bed which good looking " Exodus Man" he is fantasizing about. X-gay is a myth because I once was an x-gay who is now out of the closet finally and look back at the hypocrisy of it all. I did go to an off branch of x-gay ministry in Chattanooga once and soon as I hit the door another x-gay was checking me out.

"Exodus vice-president Randy Thomas, who has been celibate for 16 years, told the crowd, “Just because I stopped being gay 16 years ago doesn’t mean I can’t be fabulous.” Exodus’ fire and brimstone rhetoric and Thomas’ campy presentation were so incongruous that the reporter wryly commented, "Clearly, gaydar has yet to be invented on planet Exodus"."

*********************

I rarely read Randy's blog, but I had to see for myself if he already dissed this article. And of course he did - while piling on tons more 'campiness' and 'fabulousness' (as if Exodus is cool with "fabulous" and "campy" "ex-gays").

Lest we forget, these people are guilty of yapping the tired line about "nor fornicators, nor homosexuals, nor effeminate men, nor blah blah blah will get into heaven".

I'm pretty sure there's no exception to that rule for Randy, because acting like a woman to attract new "ex-gays" sounds pretty effeminate to me. Not to mention this is false advertising, for the future "ex-gays" who will be told they can't be making witty comments, acting campy, or anything else attributed to "being gay".

But what's really hilarious about all this, is Randy says Exodus is working behind the scenes to prevent future reports like this one from getting out into the public.

What is Exodus planning on doing? Running a background check on all attendees? Googling all of their names, to make sure none of them are reporters?

Randy, Randy, Randy. The kookier the "ex-gays" come across, I'm sure the more volunteers can be found to go undercover, report, take pictures, take audio, etc. at Exodus cult meetings - and those people don't have to be reporters.

And it's totally fair, beings Mike Ensley has been pleading to high school kids to spy on high school GSA's and report back to him. Plus their good buddy Peter LaBarbera is famous for taking photos at gay events and bathhouses for his "undercover investigating".

These guys can't keep their cult meetings and the going-on's "behind the scenes" secret forever. The larger Exodus becomes, the harder it'll be to keep the public from finding out exactly how nutty these people really are.

Soon enough, there won't be any more lifelines left to claim "I'm being taken out of context", when you sashay across the stage like RuPaul and claiming to be "cured of homosexuality", while trying to recruit confused teenagers and their neurotic parents.

Really, these events should be exposed front and center, with no opportunity for Alan or Randy to edit the report and actual quotes from Exodus members, to their own liking. And THIS is their biggest problem of all, with this report - they had no control over what the public reads about them. It must suck to be them, because it's all downhill for Exodus.
