Outspoken activist Stephen Bennett has officially failed as an “ex-gay” spokesman and has finally found a real job. I can only guess that the foundering economy caught up to him and forced this media-seeking stage horse to discover Monster.com. We wish him luck in his exciting, new real estate career and suggest that his big hair go condo.
The world is a better place today, now that Bennett has moved on. We can only hope that cutbacks at Focus on the Family extend to its failed Love Won Out program, so Melissa Fryrear can get a real job at McDonalds and finally get a date with her beloved redhead – Ronald.

“We can only hope that cutbacks at Focus on the Family extend to its failed Love Won Out program.”
Yeah, but let’s keep tabs on these guys, even after the “ex-gay” well runs dry. It wouldn’t surprise me if most of them will go back to being gay once they are no longer being paid to say they’re “ex-gay”.
I’m sure part of it has to do with being brainwashed, but they also got into this because of greed. There’s not many Americans out there who would pass up on the opportunity to be a paid sex gossiper.
As for Stephen, I don’t congratulate him. Being the attention hog he is, it’s just another way to get his face printed on something – in this case, business cards. And I doubt his job will last, especially if he’s going to bore potential clients to death with his own sex gossiping.
Well Mr Bennett got a real estate job. Mmmm..maybe he has some clinets he needs to meet or another real estate agent whom is gay to shake his world up a little. My prediction says he is already struggling with his sexuality and could not take the puplit and his own hypocrisy. Now only time will tell exactly when we will hear he has going through a divorce and has announced I am now an ex-ex-gay.
I see that SB Ministries website is still active and soliciting emergency year end donations to “end the year in the black.” So while he is not selling houses in a collapsed market, he can still wait by his email sucking donations from sad parents who can’t face reality.
I think anytime a ministry asks for $$, they are going against what the New Testament teaches about being a evangelist/teacher — see Acts 20.
I was ex-gay and then ex- ex- gay —- and now I am just a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ. Finding Him has brought all the peace and fulfillment — joy unspeakable.
May God lead His children home.

“Ex-Gay’ Activist Stephen Bennett Gets Real Job
Apparently not. From a recent email I received:
We then get the standard “send money, send money, send money” pitch.
BTW, who does his teeth?
Emproph,
I’ve been asking that for a LOOOOOONG time! LOL
His photoshopped teeth is one of the many fashion f**k-up’s of the “ex-gay” industry.
You are promoting a lie. Stephen Bennett has not moved on. He still has his ministry to the homosexual.
Stephen Bennett is about seeing the homosexual set free. He is living proof that God can set a man free.
Your hate for him just shows your ignorance.
Sue, Stephen Bennett’s loving message is all about ‘believe me or go to hell’ – I know, I have a sample of his leaflets that I took from some wingnuts on Sunset Boulevard a few months ago. To believers, it must be an evil piece of blackmail. Like all of these ‘ministries’ it’s about making a few bucks out of people’s credulity and fears.
No wonder he tells the reader also, ‘you must believe’ – well, Mr Bennett’s failing ministry is living proof that such nonsense cannot be believed. There is no reason to. Extraordinary claims – like knowing the mind of ‘God’ – require extraordinary evidence.
I am pleased Bennett is a happily married man with a family, I wish him well. But he should realise, many of us want nothing to do with his message, and are able to lead steady, normal lives and not sink in a purple haze of drugs addiction and alcohlism as Bennett clearly did.
While religious fanatics keep sticking their fingers into other people’s affairs, you must expect hatred, and ridicule. His inability to show self-control in former years is a reflection of himself, not others. He needs to face up to that, and move on.
How pathetic, Sue. Where did I make a ghastly untimatum to ‘follow me or else’ in my response? Where did I call for the suppression of other people’s opinion or of ex-gay lifestyles? On the contrary, I think my comments about Mr Bennett to be quite gracious, in the circumstances.
But, yes, ‘intolerance’ I most certainly am. As I am not a Christian, I don’t follow immoral teachings such as loving my enemies and forgiving murderers. (I’m glad we didn’t on 9/11). Tolerance is not a virtue: it has to be deserved. I have no tolerance for intolerance, bigotry and religious bullying.
If you make statements that are poisonous, based on no evidence whatsoever, you must face the consequences and expect mockery and ridicule, or worse. That’s what the First Amendment is all about. It seems you are asking for superstitious beliefs to be given special treatment, by being ringfenced from criticism. That’s not going to happen.
It’s the cheapest trick of all time to use the threat of eternal damnation to leech money of gullible people, and all these ex-gay organisations are just that.
You should tolerate the truth that being gay is perfectly natural for many people. You are a fine one to talk of tolerance, when what you want to do is interfere with their personal affairs, and use the federal courts to make their lives as miserable as possible.
To repeat, we don’t want your love or freedom thanks. Justice will do nicely instead.
PS You’re welcome to provide peer-reviewed evidence of homosexual life expectancies – not debunked propaganda from fundamentalists, based on newspaper obituaries.
Sue said: “Your hate for him just shows your ignorance.”
That is a strawman argument. Dishonest and deliberate logical fallacies are not permitted at Truth Wins Out — especially from people who falsely claim to tell the truth.
Sue said: “Our bodies tell us that it is unatural to engage in the homosexual lifestyle.”
False. Your body tells you that it is unnatural for you; and there is no such thing as a “homosexual lifestyle.”
Sue said: “The average life of a male homosexual is 43.”
That myth, spread by a quack activist Paul Cameron and his son Kirk, was proven false decades ago. It was true only of homosexual men in the late 1980s who died in San Francisco during the height of the AIDS epidemic and had their obituaries printed in the few gay newspapers that the Cameron duo read.
Sue, your declaration of unsubstantiated and defamatory falsehoods is deserving of ridicule, and your presentation of your vulgar and indecent prejudices as false “truth” has nothing to do with “freedom of speech.” No one is free to commit libel and slander against others, and no one is free to abuse privately owned property as you do here.
You are, in short, a troll abusing privately owned property. You are a graffiti artist, scrawling messages of blind and stupid hate in someone else’s home.
Your opposition to love, diversity, and tolerance make you unqualified for civil discussion, which is a basic requirement of this site. Goodbye, Sue.
I bet “Sue” is actually Bennett. LOL! ;¬¨p
God sent me an email just now and he told me to tell “Sue” that bible’s were never meant to be inserted into someone’s butt and she should remove it immediately because it is an abomination!
LOL!
:)
His “ministry” web site is gone. If he had been doing what God intended, the “ministry” wouldn’t have floundered then died. Maybe he’ll finally stop spreading hate disguised as “God’s word.”
Well Stephen Bennett Ministries is back in business and online again. And he is hosting a Feb 2011 conference in CT spouting the same old lines. No word about his absence or ‘financial’ difficulties.
This time around though he states online donations to his “Ministry” are NOT tax-deductible. I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact he has yet to file his 2008 or 2009 Form 900 (“non-profit” indeed!) with the IRS – at least according to Guidestar as of this morning.
Wonder if failure to file is a chargeable offence?

Stephen has a great message for the trap many of these people have fallen into.
A message of lies based on fake “science”? Haha, no.
