(Isn't it ironic that Exodus should name itself after a mythical event, for which there is no evidence whatsoever?)

It's precisely the bigotry of Exodus, the Alliance Defense Fund, and other fanatical nutcases like them, that is accelerating the decline of religion in America. They will end up with more ex-christians than ex-gays.

GLSEN encourages people to ignore them. (because people might react with violence??) But with a tiny bit of questioning, their argument falls to pieces. People should not be allowed to get away with saying 'believe me based on no evidence'.

It would be really good to do a website that specifically demolishes and ridicules the lies and plain stupidity promoted by DOT.

And I mean first-class stupidity. Just one example, read the 'Hostile Questions' resource page on the DOT website, esp. Q.9 : 'how do you know your 'truth' is the absolute truth?

Well, quoting John 14:6, it says that because Jesus (reportedly) says 'I am the truth' that's all the assurance we need, that he existed, said those words, and was the son of God. Challenge people: do they have a real reason to believe all this, or was it something they were brought up to believe, as a child?

The quote gets even more banal:

"When there is no standard for truth... the consequences can be tragic. Most people would agree that the commandment from God "Thou shalt not murder" is truth. But what happens if someone rejects that as truth, and their "truth" allows them to engage in the killing of innocent human beings? We are simply pointing to what our founding documents, the Declaration of Independence and Constitution, recognize: that there are absolute truths, and that such truth comes from our Creator, God."

1. There is no reference to a Christian god in the founding documents, and its author was a deist, and had no time for a personal god.
2. Extraordinary claims need extraordinary evidence - how do you know such truth comes from a supernatural being, when the overwhelming evidence says our morality is a product of our evolution?
3. According to the above, the only reason Exodus / ADF do not go out on a killing spree, pillage, rape, steal, lie is because 'god tells them not to.' That is a disgustingly immoral statement. All I have to say is - compare the statistics on crime, standard of living, disease and education in religious and non religious societies. What do people do in the name of god, in Waco, on the West Bank, Bosnia?

The people who push DOT are themselves slaves ('No one comes by the father but by me') It's time for a conversation to help these people break free from Christianity, and embrace Reason.

"The Day of Silence helps bring us closer to making anti-LGBT bullying, harassment and name-calling unacceptable in America' schools," GLSEN tells us. So THAT'S what Exodus means when it says that the Day of Silence is "promoting the homosexual agenda".

Well, if that's the homosexual agenda, then it should bloody well be promoted - and the more the better.
