Normally I advocate “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” but for obvious reasons it’s a very bad idea in cases like this. Too bad the RRRW can’t tell the difference.

With regard to Charles Socarides, James, here’ a little snippet of information that you might be interested to know if you don’t know it already.

Back in 1992 a documentary on possible biological causes of homosexuality was presented on Channel 4 here in Britain. It was entitled “Born That Way?”, and it focused mainly on the work of Simon LeVay. In it LeVay interviewed Socarides about his views on the origins of homosexuality. I remember watching it at the time. (I think that I’ve still got it on video among my collection.) What I didn’t know until I read LeVay’ book, “Queer Science”, was that a portion of the interview had been excised from the broadcast version at Socarides’ insistence. This was when LeVay asked Socarides what he thought had caused the latter’ son to grow up homosexual, whereupon Socarides lost his rag.

It’s also interesting to note that one of the biggest advocates of “ex gay” therapy, Charles Socarides, has an openly gay son, Richard.

Charles Socarides advocated that an absent father causes his son to be gay. Then his son turns out gay, despite all the potential by him to put his “science” to the test.

What a slap to the face.

Like you said before Wayne, all they’re doing is trying to shove 10 pounds of sh*t in a 5 pound bag.

NARTH is disgusting. They think that they can argue legitimately against the American Psychological Association. Incidentally, the APA is one of many organizations that “disagree” with NARTH.

And then they cite “proof” that they are right by showing stories of so called “ex gays”. Just look at the definition of sexual orientation and then look at these ridiculous “stories” and anyone could see the flaws. Also, NARTH conveniently ignores all the gays who HAVE went through “ex gay” therapy and it did not work for them and the only thing that made them feel better was to accept themselves for who they are, as gay or lesbian.

NARTH has a lot to learn.
