As a result of Bush and Cheney, tens of thousands of people have died in Iraq, as well as American soldiers. The effort has cost our nation dearly in blood and treasure.

Republicans and insurance industry executives first proposed end-of-life consultations half a decade ago to discourage the elderly from billing Medicare (read: conservative taxpayers) for traumatic and costly medical treatments that only preserve life by a few weeks or months.

“Moderate” Democrats in the Senate are holding up reconciliation in the Senate because they (Democrat Senators) oppose single payer.
Leftist Democrats in the House, according to Speaker Pelosi, will NOT support a reconciliation bill which omits single payer.
Democrats have the votes to pass it – Republicans do not have the votes to stop it.

And I don’t know that it’s “demonizing” gay conservatives when one questions the psychological stability of people who insist on hanging out with and trying to be accepted by a party that doesn’t hesitate to admit they wish gays were still criminalized, if not eradicated. So, conservatives fear socialism and big government intrusion into their life, and therefore don’t want Obama’s public health option programs…heard it before, we all know that American conservatives love the rich and hate the poor…but simultaneously, they are okay with DOMA and any other government intrusion that controls gay folks, demonizes the LGBT community, and attempts to control sex for everyone, even heterosexuals. They oppose repeal of archaic laws that outlaw sex between consenting adults. How do you conservative types explain this weirdness…that it is fine for government to regulate sex and intimate relationships, but it is not okay for government to provide public health care options?

Today’s GOP-friendly organizations no longer seek a libertarian society — if they ever did. I wish they would, but they don’t.
With scattered exceptions (GLIL and IGF among them), they seek to regulate and tax everyone else while abolishing the laws and taxes that apply to themselves. They seek to borrow and print money for themselves — and make our children and grandchildren pay for their greed.

Then Articles 9 and 10 specifically prohibit the federal government doing anything not enumerated in Article 1 because powers not enumerated in Article 1 are (1) beyond the scope of federal authority, and (2) belong to the states or the people.

“The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.”

I don’t view “teabaggers” as sexual slang — they adopted the teabag as a mascot and some of them adopted the noun as well.
However, I don’t apologize for insulting people who demand tax cuts without spending cuts to the government programs that they love, and who offer no responsible alternative path out of an economic collapse that was caused by a real-estate and investment bubble fueled by runaway GOP deficit spending since 2000 and by irresponsibly low rates at the Fed.
My problem is not with wanting to get health care for those who need it. The problem is with the government doing it. If you think that government run health care will be any different than Social Security, Medicaid, and other government run programs then you are living in another world. The government hasn’t done much of anything right, just look at the past programs, we are in for more of the same.

Whilst other countries separate church and state in practice and not in law (cf. UK) , the US seems to do it only in law and not in practice wrt gay rights. Witness LDS buying political influence (not in principle wrong – just pointing out political activism by religious organisations). I’m afraid you come under the same umbrella of “religiously motivated anti-gay” whether you want to be associated with them or not. All must be opposed vigourously.
Also, stating that the Bible condemns homosexuality can be disputed and it can be a fairly hateful thing to say someone is going to hell and responsible for the breakdown of the family.
