This case is not about whether or not gay or lesbian people should be "allowed" to have children. In fact, this has nothing to do with that issue at all. This case is about two adults who entered into a civil union in Vermont and had a child together. The video rightly points out that this case is no different from that of a heterosexual couple who, because they couldn't have children for whatever reason, went to a sperm (or egg) donor. Any court would recognize both the man and the woman in the marriage to be parents, period even though one of them isn't the biological parent. Peter Spriggs is wrong on the law. He doesn't know what he's talking about. His only motivation is his desire to discriminate against this lesbian woman. If it were not for these two women, the child wouldn't even exist. It was a mutual decision to give the gift of life to their daughter, and both share equal responsibilities, obligations and benefits. That the "former lesbian" is hiding the child is totally wrong, but I guess when you have God on your side (especially Jerry Falwell's God), nothing is out of bounds, is it?
