Just yesterday, Focus on the Family defended antigay bullying in Wyoming.
Today, the organization defended a supposed right of bullies in New Hampshire to haze and harass classmates.
Focus calls a bill prohibiting violence on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity “pro-gay” and criticizes the proposal for not only prohibiting violence, but also inserting lessons against such violence into the curriculum.
Focus instead wants any antiviolence program to deny the existence of gay and transgender students.

Always in the minds of “pro-family” types, telling people they shouldn’t harm gay people is equivalent to telling them “go be gay y’all”.
It’s just like Laurie Higgins last year, when she wrote that piece that essentially said it’s a Christian child’s duty to bully gay people.
You have this completely wrong of course. And Evan Hurst and Buffy your comments are total bullcrap.
There was an anti-bullying law presented in the legislature. But we can’t figure out why bullying can’t just be part of the regular ‘against the rules’ behavior in schools?
The reason it isn’t is, progressives have just about outlawed discipline and there is no backing up teachers who want to come down on students who are harassing others for ANY REASON.
Anyway, some people tried to keep the LIST OF SPECIAL INTEREST groups out of the bill, and make it so that it covers EVERYONE. The reason the gay lobby would not accept that is, they want to use this to be able to introduce gay sexual educational materials into the schools.
It’s happened before in Massachusetts.
So please, it’s the gay lobby who wants to exclude people… whereas the people of NH want ALL bullying to be dealt with.
The fact that it is dealt with is what is important, NOT focusing on what the original cause of the bullying was…
I was a teacher for 40 years and I punished anyone who engaged in this kind of behavior. I didn’t ever have to cite the reason for it. It is NOT necessary!
If you want your anti-bullying laws, then let them cover everyone and don’t be looking for this to be a backdoor to introducing the agenda of sex education into the schools.
Wow and this link even explains it: http://citizenlinkblog.com/drivethru/2010/02/nh-legislators-poised-to-pass-pro-gay-school-law/
Yet you post an inflammatory and libelous title like this?
Shame on you.
Um, so you’re saying that you’re a “moran,” as the teabaggers spell it.
Um. The reason that they specifically add sexual orientation to those lists is because anti-gay bullying is particularly bad in schools, against kids who are gay, and also against kids who are, but are perceived as not being.
It’s not about excluding anyone, dude.
It’s about making sure all bullying is monitored equally.
And you might have been a good teacher, but not all are.
And sex ed is already in the schools, and gay people exist. Grow up and deal with with it.
Yes I said grow up. You said you taught for 40 years, so obviously you’re ancient, but grow up.
Oh, and shush about “the people of New Hampshire.”
“The People of New Hampshire” don’t link to Focus on the Family’s “news” website. “The People of New Hampshire” think that FotF people are insane wingnuts and are embarrassed that you’re there.
I’m not sure what is sadder, the fact that a “Christian” group would consider bullying students to be a proper manifestation of “Treat others as you want to be treated” or a radical anti-gay activist defending them here. Bullying is wrong, period. There is no justification for anyone to promote or support bullying. Being pro-bullying is a sin, y’all, and if you can’t see that, then you really need help from someone much higher up than me.
