Mark, a hint: for things to be funny, they need to be grounded in reality, and written by people with an IQ of more than...well, preferably in the triple digits. Otherwise, we just pity you.

And yes, that was meant to be condescending.

"Well, and the trouble I have with it is this:

The rest of the [liberal] platform is preposterous, but so many [democraps] buy into it because they don't know any better. They THINK they live in a world where massive tax [hikes] lower the deficit, despite the fact that Macroeconomics textbooks are readily available. They THINK they live in a world where climate is the same thing as weather and snowstorms [prove] global warming, even though they're theoretically just as able to learn about science as anyone else. They THINK they live in a world where [gentle persuasion] is an effective form of interrogation, even though "[MSNBC]‚Ä? is just a teevee show.

And for many [democraps], the reason they continue believing these things is that they never have any reason, any impetus to check out whether their ideology is crap or not. So what really gets under my skin is that gay [liberals] DO have that impetus! Because they have to go through the process of coming out, which to my mind is a grand time to start asking questions: "If everything my religious family taught me about sexuality is bullshit, is it possible that [Keynesian economics] is ALSO completely made up?" But they don't! And this information is easily attained!

But, I suppose you have to be a truly inquisitive person to do that."

I couldn't agree more, my friend.

I'm thrilled to death that Ryan exposed conservatives for what they are: racist, homophobic pin heads who are obsessed and threatened by anyone not like them.

Society has evolved past you. And not a moment too soon.

I must be in a nitpicky mood today. I don't think people like Rick Santorum are homophobic; they are intentionally ignorant and deceitful.

My point being, much of today's bigotry is being driven not by fear of gay people, but by malice, pride, and deep insecurity (fear) about one's own filtering of reality through a lens of ridiculous and untenable ideology.

Politicians like Santorum and Alan Chambers choose to capitalize upon ignorance, malice, and insecurity for personal gain -- and to knowingly damage society -- because they lack the integrity and strength of values that are required to resist the temptations of power and material comfort. Of course, these vices are precisely what they project onto their targets.
