SO Jesus-y, this one.
I will now liveblog video of this pastor, Wayne Sapp, who shepherds some sort of flock at the “Dove World Outreach Center,” and who says “fag” a whole bunch of times:
1. Did you know that Gainesville is the eleventh gayest city in the country! I didn’t! I figured it was more like the eleventieth! The more you know!
2. He’s using a green screen. Some of you are tech savvy. You know what to do.
3. He contacted a bunch of pastors for their support for his torch wielding mob of pantloads, to make sure no fags are ever elected to public office in Gainesville. Guess how many are helping him? Nada. So that’s good news, and also funny, because this dingbat went and made a green screen video and evurthang!
4. Fire of God!
5. All the other pastors are sissy fags? All of them need to be removed from their pulpits and replaced with paranoid pantloads!
6. Also, Islam is for fags?
7. If you don’t do things that are not in the Bible, you are anti-Bible. (???)
8. Blah-di-blah-di-blah.
9. The world is going to hell. R U?!?!?!?!

There is so much one COULD say about this, but why bother?
These are the easiest ones to confront, because they are so outrageously unbiblical while claiming to follow Scripture. A homophobic Christian is an oxymoron. One has to choose between his/her sin of homophobia and Christ. Christ never condemned gay people and certainly never condoned homophobia. We are commanded to follow the example of our Lord. One cannot call everyone nasty names like “fag” and be a Christian. It’s reviling and Scripture says in more than one place that revilers are going to hell. Thus, militant anti-gay activist Sapp should be very concerned about his own soul and less concerned about trying to redefine morality to include name calling.
I went to the University of Florida, in Gainesville. Great school and town. I love it there. This buffoon won’t have many supporters.
This guy also seems a bit dangerous and potentially violent to me. He comes across as a real psychopath.
hes an idiot, dont bother responding or letting him get to you.. let him be the only thing i fear is that people beleive or follow him.
The “cure” for this type of rhethoric is PRIDE! Not that jump-on-a-float freakshow stuff. I’m talking about REAL pride in who we are as men, women and people! It’s rather stupid to be proud of being born a certain way because we did nothing to warrant or sway that. However, we overcome every single day. We have higher morals and ETHICS than our counterparts on average. And, my favorite, we are tried and trued by standing strong against Church, Family and Society. The bullying of the schoolyards continue past high school. The bullies simply change from direct violence to exclusion–AND WE STILL survive and prosper! Now honestly, many of our brothers and sisters in the South live as if we’re in jail, watching social life but not allowed to participate. It’s sad. It’s unjust. Still, it’s our lives and we must SAY how proud we are to be stronger and better than the untested, unrestrained masses who make up their rules as they please and have NO censorship for consciousness. We are to be a proud people… despite that 6′ 4″ Loni Linebacker on the pride float who always finds the CNN camera and makes me have to apologize to all my friends!
Merrell said “It’ rather stupid to be proud of being born a certain way because we did nothing to warrant or sway that.”.
Merrell, you’re missing the point of gay pride parades. They came about because people said LGBTs should be ashamed of who they are. The pride parade is a statment that we are proud of the good people that we are regardless of our orientation – its a rejection of the claim that we should be ashamed.
Furthermore, please stop comparing all gay pride parades to the stereotype. Down here in South Carolina, our parades and festivals are comprised of lgbt families complete with their children.
I have to agree with that last statement. I have marched in Pittsburgh’s PrideFest parades for the last four years. Ours is never the spectacle that San Fran’s is. Sure, we have our drag queens and our fairies. However, we also have our GLCC Support Center, our PFLAG people and our GLBT’s who have nurtured children. Not all gay prides parades are sparkly and girlish,
Oh. Another functionally illiterate fundie with a meagre vocabulary who’s been to the Fred Phelps charm school…
