Look, y’all. We all know that the writers at GayPatriot are self-loathing, awful people, indeed, embarrassments to LGBT people everywhere. In the past 24 hours, the “Daniel Blatt” one was one of the only wingnuts on the entire internet to have a problem with Obama granting visitation rights to same-sex couples. Indeed, his post on the subject was so grotesque that Tintin at Sadly, No!, usually one of the greatest snark blogs EVER, dispensed with all silliness to throw down one of the most memorable, spot-on smackdowns I’ve seen in recent months. I won’t quote it here because this is a family blog, but suffice it to say that everything he said is true, and then some.
But now, the “ColoradoPatriot” one, who thinks he’s clever when he talks about the “Stalinization of healthcare,” as if that phrase reverberates anywhere except for the hall of mirrors he uses to have circle jerks with himself, has decided that you know what? Constance McMillen sucks:
Okay. So have you heard of this story where the high school girl who wanted to attend the prom with her “lesbian girlfriend” (I use the quotes because, really. Call me an old stick-in-the-mud*, but are high-schoolers self-aware enough to realize they’re lesbians already? And even if so, are we encouraging kids that young to identify themselves sexually? What ever happened to the innocence and beauty of youth? Ugh, but anyway.) was duped into arriving at some sham event while the actual prom was being held somewhere else?
Ugh, but anyway. Apparently Nick is either too old and senile to remember the fact the started getting boners looking at the underpants ads in the Sears Catalog at age twelve, or he’s just so eaten up by guilt that he’s bought into the entire Religious Right garbage about sexual orientation that he actually thinks he chose to be a self-hating faggot at age 25. I honestly don’t know which is the answer, but yes, Nick, high school seniors are more than capable of knowing what gender they’re attracted to.
Well, far be it from me to pick on a kid
Uh, no, apparently, Nick, close be it from you, because you’re picking on a kid, right this very minute.
Let’ presume the high school has at least a couple hundred kids, and that a bunch of them likely attended this “stealth” prom, right? And somehow, therefore, they were able to keep this girl completely in the dark about the whole thing? Like none of the high-school kids involved spilled the beans? She was totally unable to figure out that the entire school was in on the joke except her (and, apparently a couple “students with learning difficulties”)?
Yeah, haha, let’s laugh at those retards! Actually, it’s been reported that she did know about the other gathering, but unfortunately, she had enough faith in her fellow human beings to think that they’d attend the real prom.
Hm… Seems to me, she’ exactly the sort of inquisitive, self-introspective, get-down-to-the-bottom-of-it, fact-checker and independent thinker that the gay Left is dying to recruit. Surely they’ll be glad to have her.
When Nick says “gay Left,” understand that he’s lashing out, like Daniel, at all the men who don’t want to have sex with him, or talk to him, and definitely have tricked him into going to several hundred alternate locations in his time.
Additionally, let’ note that her reaction was to broadcast far and wide to anybody willing to listen that she’d been completely punked and embarrassed through her gullibility in hopes of garnering sympathy, rather than reflecting on how she could have been so credulous. This will likely also find her kindred spirits in the movement.
Actually, Nicholas, it was by then a closely-followed national news story, so that’s why it was reported.
So, between Daniel getting pissed off about the black president he can’t stand giving him the right to visit the husband he will never have in the hospital and Nick the ColoradoGaytriot seeing a story about a vulnerable high school aged lesbian living in the seventh circle of wingnut hell and choosing to side with the kids who screwed Constance and the disabled kids out of prom, I think we can safely say, “Wow, these guys are total assholes!”
This is why this writer doesn’t cheer for GOProud going to CPAC and surviving without getting lynched. Because if these are our emissaries to the conservative movement in the United States, we should sooner let them fester like the boils they are until the movement finally teabags itself into oblivion, because they do nothing but harm for the lives of LGBT people in this country, as they don’t fight for us, but rather, as Tintin said at Sadly, No! (yeah, I’m going to quote part of it, brace yourself if you can’t handle potty words), they
will sell out other gay people in order to curry the favor of straight Republicans who pat [them] on the head every now but then call [them] cock-sucking heels-in-the-air fudge-packed girlie-[men] behind [their] back[s].
It’s absolutely pathetic. I cannot imagine what kind of internal turmoil would have to be present in order to so fully embrace the Stockholm Syndrome of the GayPatriots, and I almost feel like I should pity them, but then I remember that I, too, was raised in a conservative Republican home and managed to make it out with my brain intact, to think for myself, and to value myself enough to demand equal treatment under the law. So what’s their excuse?

Wow, some of the biggest most hateful homophobes (Matt Drudge) are gays!!
Wow. What an idiot.
1. He seriously doesn’t believe teenagers are capable of knowing whether they’re gay or not? By that logical, they also can’t know whether they’re straight or not.
2. If discovering you’re gay signals a “loss of innocence”, then he must consider himself corrupt. So why should we bother to listen to him?
“by that logical”?
I really have to read my comments more carefully before hitting “submit”
I will point out that even some of his regular commenters are giving him hell. But as usual, he’s deferring to the straight Republicans and ignoring the experiences of the gay ones, because another characteristic of that blog is to run away from any authentic expression of one’s own sexuality in service of, again, prostrating themselves in front straight men who they will never be and who will never genuinely like them.
The reason they don’t get shot at CPAC is simple: tokenism. As we’ve seen in the teabagging rallies lately, the tea party leaders are obsessively trying to make their movement look like a Bennetton ad, showing black doctors and hispanic immigrants, etc., but the crowd is still ALL white. In fact, one journalist thought the crowd was diverse until he realized that all the people of color were actually employees of the stadium where the rally was being held.
So sure, they’ll let Dan and Nick and the malcontent that started it all, Bruce, be token homos, just like they pull in token black people and everything else to fight against the fact that they’re a movement comprised of whiny old white people who resent the possibility that others who don’t look like them might get a piece of the pie, no matter how much they’ve earned it.
Wow. The love, tolerance and compassion overflows here.
Glad you noticed. Did you have a comment, or something to add to the discussion? Or do you somehow see the GayPatriot morons as victims because they got called out for their grotesque posts?
Hey, Bastiat Fan, No doubt you criticize blacks for not overflowing with love, tolerance and compassion towards KKK members. And I’ll bet you were a schoolyard bully, and when some kids finally defended themselves against your taunts, you became enraged about how unfair, intolerant, and vicious they were.
Bastiat Fan:
Why would we love people who are out to harm our families? When we have achieved equality under the law you will notice that we are infinitely more loving.
Until then, if you want love go read World Net Daily or buy a dog.
Tolerance is a two way street. And I don’t love my enemies. I want to anihilate them. Loving enemies is evil, wicked, and stupid. We didn’t do it on 9/11 and we’re not doing it to theocratic nutbags now. Go love your enemies if you must Bastiat Fan, but don’t do it in my name.
If it’s achoice between World Net Daily or the dog, pick the dock. It’s more intelligent, and drops fewer piles of poop.
“The DOG”, not the dock. damn typos. i ruined my own joke.
Wayne there is a discussion at Warren Throckmortons website about this article. Can you kindly stop over there and clarify things? I don’t know any of the background about the people you are writing about and I would appreciate it if you could explain things to me. If you read through the comments over at Throckmortons article the questions are there that I am looking for answers for. If you can please use simple language that will help. Shorter is better as because when I have to go do to much background checking I sometimes forget my original question, LOL!
sorry Wayne I forgot the link

Wayne or Evan, I am writing to you to request that you remove the pejorative gay F word used here
“Religious Right garbage about sexual orientation that he actually thinks he chose to be a self-hating f***** at age 25″
I am on your side but I do object to that word being used in the context you have used it and would sincerely appreciate if you would remove that one word. I find it offensive and it is not necessary to make your point anyway. Many thanks.
StraightGrandmother:
I respect and appreciate your concerns. However, it is exceedingly rare that we remove words. Especially from pieces written a time ago. We aren’t big fans of censoring opinions. And given the obnoxious commentary aimed at a high school student already victimized by bullies, we could have, quite frankly, been justified to say much worse.
We will consider your viewpoint for future articles.
StraightGrandmother–thanks for your support.
I think the comment in context is kind of perfect. Those of us who are gay and who have worked against this sort of closet mentality know exactly what it means. The term is shocking–but that’s what it takes to get the point through sometimes.
Excuse me if I’m still “catching up”, as it were, but isn’t there a possibility that groups like the “GayPatriot” are not even composed of gay people at all, but are just wingnuts saying they’re gay, and speaking b******t in order to make gay people look stupid? That’s the thought that occurred to me when reading some of these comments. Whatever the case, groups like them don’t seem to be making much of a dent/impression on anyone worthwhile (except to make themselves feel better). They may as well save their breath.
Oh, and Bastiat Fan: We’ll start extending love, tolerance and compassion just as soon as our enemies extend it to us. Until then, we are not satisfied with just laying down and taking their b******t. They need to be exposed for their lies.
@stephen:
Sadly, they are total homosexuals. But they’re not a happy kind. It’s ridiculous and sad but you come to realize they are one of two things:
1. gay men who desperately yearn for the approval of straight society, for whatever reason.
2. gay white wealthy men who value their white privilege more than they do anything else, and are willing to give up any vestiges of integrity in order to preserve that. The leaders of GOProud are like that. One of them also needs desperate approval for his physical appearance, though he looks like a steroid junkie who shares Ann Coulter’s plastic surgeon
Dan blatt is a friend of mine and I find the photoshopped picture of him attached tl yhe Sadly, No! Post to be grossly inappropriate. Say what you will about him and his Political beliefs (which i more often than not disagree with), He is isnt a celebrity in the public eye and hasn’t warranted that kind of visual personal attack. Especially published by someone who doesn’t readily publish a photo of themselves.
Your lack of criticism of the photo is disturbing and doesn’t give liberals a very good name.
