I didn’t create this list; our new favorite newspaper, the Miami New Times did. They are on a roll with this story. Here’s how they introduce their list:
Unless you’ve spent the last 48 hours holed up in a French B&B humping the homosexuality right out of your rent-a-boy, you’ve probably heard about Miami New Times‘ expos?© of gay-bashing evangelist George Alan Rekers’ European tryst with a male prostitute.
That is some grade-A snark. I feel unworthy. The best thing about their list is that they include the best “totally gay quote” from each Religious Right Homophobic-Yet-Also-Gay public figure, such as this one, from Florida’s own Bob Allen:
“This was a pretty stocky black guy, and there was nothing but other black guys around in the park,” Allen, on the cop who he thought was trying to rob him. See, he offered to blow the guy because he feared he “was about to be a statistic”.
That is seriously still my favorite Religious Right Republican outing. Luggage-lifting and “The Long Stroke” are hilarious, don’t get me wrong, but I fear we’ll never top “I had to blow him because I was scared of black people.”
Go read the whole thing.

I’m biased, but John Paulk should have been in the top 5.
In the largest scope, shouldn’t we, for accuracy’ sake, rename the Republican Party to the Repressionists party? This rename would hold entirely correct and be far more explicit and descriptive than simply, “the Party of “no’”. It’ too easy to assemble logic supporting why a “no’ vote is righteous. Like Sarah said, “Not the party of “no’ but, “hell no’”! They’re actually proud of their obstruction. They would be less likely to continue a pride in being repressive.
It’ a fair exchange. In order for “gay marriage” to ever happen on a Federal level in my lifetime, we’re going to have to rename it. The hold-up is the word “marriage’. I don’t like the term “civil union’. If we can find a new name having romance and love with the same rights as marriage, it will fly through. Names have power. In the same way, a rename, “Repressionists” will have to man-up and openly admit, “Yes, we want to actively deny equality to across America and it is our policy to oppress minorities in every form for the protection and advancement of only people who agree with us.”
Before you say, “This can’t be done,” I assure you it already has…Liberal.
Still, and I want so desperately to drive this home with the younger crowd, the FIGHT IS NOT OVER. Sure, even I, at 45, freely enjoy the hard work and paid suffering of those who came before me. That in no way entitles me to sit back and watch without making my own sacrifices. The BALLS those before me had…it’ mind-boggling! They were beaten, arrested, ostracized from everyone and gave up their own happiness to ensure yours, to ensure mine. It’ not enough to have Pride festivals. We must prefer each other’ company, each other’ businesses and STAND in the face of Repressionists. I enjoy these, “you’re a lying b*****d” expos?© articles. Top Ten? What? Do we need to stop there because we ran out of fingers? I say let’ gather the top 100 Politicians and Religious leaders! Rename and Conquer, my people.
“There shall be no peace.”
