Scott Lively is the holocaust revisionist who was instrumental in fanning the flames of bigotry in Uganda that led to the notorious Anti-Homosexuality Bill. He is a monster whose pathological obsession with homosexuality has reached dangerous levels.
Today, he announced — despite the overwhelming evidence — that he was going to defend himself and fight accusations that he is a barbaric tyrant. Dr. Warren Throckmorton has a letter from Lively and his emerging strategy on his website:

I intend to get off defense and counter-attack the false witnesses with hard facts about Uganda and the dishonest way the media has addressed the story. LOL seems to me that it means a lot of the so-called pro-family journalists out there doesn’t want to touch the issue. Why not solicit One News Now or the rest of that bunch?

“Good christian media source” being synonymous with “won’t fact check me”, I take it.
This isn’t terribly difficult…if he has some facts that can be independently verified that back him up then he can go make his case on Rachel Maddow. On the other hand, if he wants to keep dispensing the propaganda line that the Uganda law only applies to child rape for example, then he would have to know he couldn’t get away with that anywhere but with fellow comrades in the culture war hate machine. They won’t fact check him, because in the kook pews reality is the enemy, and just glancing at a fact amounts to a kind of treason.
It isn’t homosexuality Lively has a problem with, it’s existence. It’s not that bigots become cowards, its that cowards become bigots. That pervasive fear of the world as it really is must be debilitating at times, because everywhere you look, reality looks back.
