I wonder if there are, like, NOM groupies who follow the hate-tour around and jockey for space in Maggie Gallagher’s bus harem.
Anyway, Bil Browning met up with Maggie and Ryan McCann, the fresh-faced (you know what I mean) “Director of Public Policy for the Indiana Family Institute” on the Indianapolis leg of NOM’s Summer of Poorly Attended Bigotry, and got both of them on tape saying some very interesting things. Also, apparently Bil Browning and Ryan McCann are dating, but under the guise of “winning bets with each other”? That’s gay as hell.

Over at Joe My God, he posted something I found really interesting: it seems that this summer campaign may just be a way of getting harassment evidence. The NOMbies want to gather evidence of vandalism, threats, etc, so that when they go before the courts they can plead that revealing donors names would put them in physical danger. This seems to be true: the messages from NOM are getting more and more insulting. I hope this backfires. If our community can keep from retaliating physically, then NOM is just left looking like the right wing bigots they are.
Just some thoughts,
Joe
What I think of Maggie:
I posted on the earlier (actually, later) NOM piece. Now I’m convinced. NOM is baiting us so that we do something stupid. This would allow them to present documented reasons why not to reveal the names of donors to NOM.
When NOM first began Maggie the Hutt was careful not to bring religion into the debate. Now, she is getting as many nut jobs to say really offensive things about us. Seems pretty obvious that they’ve changed tactics and want to provoke us.
Just some thoughts,
Joe
My take on Maggie:

Is it just me or does she look like a cross between Annie Wilkes and Humpty Dumpty?
