Gary astrology is a pile of BS. I will not argue with you about this as it would be a waste of time.

As an educated and intelligent person who has studied and practiced Traditional (pre-1700s) Astrology for about 30 years now, I can firmly attest that it is not 'an illusion'. It's based on a metaphysical/spiritual philosophy and world view and has nothing to do with physical forces as materialist science pre-supposes and is only equipted to deal with. I will not argue about this with anyone as it's always a waste of time, since we generally have two enirely different Weltanschauungen.
CSICOP are not skeptics (open minded), they're debunkers (already made up their minds on all of these issues).

Keep it up, Wayne. At 77, no one in my memory has put the anti-gay bigots on the run as you have! I send many of your articles to others and many will in turn forward them on. The word is spreading.

William--well said comment regarding excluding the ex-gay movement from the other lunacies being perpetuated largely by the superstitious, ignorant right wing nuts. Jerry Johnson

More power to your elbow, Wayne, but it’s still going to be a long haul.

Quite some years ago now there was broadcast in the UK on Radio 4 a programme entitled “Invasion of the Mind-Snatchers”, which focused on what I would call the credulity explosion, mainly in the USA. One of the leading members of the Center for Skeptical Inquiry (then CSICOP) remarked that you might feel confident in one year that a particular fraud or superstition had been devastatingly and definitively discredited, and then a few years down the line you found that it was back again.

The programme dealt mainly with such delusions as astrology, abductions by extra-terrestrials and creationism, and the “ex-gay” movement wasn’t even mentioned, but I remember thinking, even back then, that what the sceptical critics said about these things applied with equal force to the “ex-gay” movement.

There is no doubt, however, that the sun is inexorably setting on the “ex-gay” movement in America and Europe, which is why its leaders and supporters are now desperately trying to export their hocus-pocus to the former Eastern-bloc and Third World countries.
