Gays who are pretending to be Not Gay talk on video to Randy “Not Gay” Thomas, batting their eyes at each other, and whatnot. Welcome to the Exodus conference! Hands where we can see ‘em, boys!
(h/t Good As You)
Well, I feel heterosexual now, don’t you?
My favorite “ex-gay” in this video is the “Justin” one. Who is yours?

From what I heard about these conferences, Jason is right….it will get real deep, real fast. No doubt about it…
Hawt.
If I’m correct, that “Janet” person spoke out at the Minnesota hearing for gay marriage legislation. Based on the video I saw of it, she basically gave the impression that she was reading from a script she had never seen before and was really, REALLY obsessed with anal sex. Also, I think someone forgot to tell “Sonia” that 1970 has been over for about four years…
Forty, I meant to say.
Yeah, Evan you have good taste. Justin’s kinda cute. I’m sure one of us=or both of us-could show him the light.
Ethan was cute too, and I got the impression Randy was hitting on him (or was it might imagination?)
Justin for sure.
Randy: “What would you say to someone attending the conference for the first time?”
Justin: “Be open. Just take it all in.”
Yeah. Seriously – this is one of the gayest videos I have seen in quite awhile.
I would really like to make fun of these guys – because it would be so easy, and what they are doing is so patently irrational (illogical, malign, …). More than anything, it makes me so sad that these exodus douchebags exploit fundamental human fear to trap and misinform these poor people. If you want to see some more crazy – see another TWO post on Adam Hood (the ‘gayest “ex-gay” ever’ videos)
I’ll bet big money that the M4M listings on Craig’s List and M4M Website numbers for the Irvine CA area went through the roof from June 23-26. Or maybe they all just go to rentboy.com like George Rekers?
Exodus needs a new tag-line:
Exodus International . . .
Helping homosexuals feel shame and self-loathing since 1976 in a fun-filled atmosphere of good cheer, good humor, and friendly smiles.
It’s sad that they keep saying “just be who you are” when they are afraid to TRULY do that. I’ve been Love Won Out (Seattle, 2005) and it was very strange. Flamboyant men with their wives…wow! Amusing.
But seriously speaking, these people are looking for acceptance by the church and God…and believe going to these conferences is the only way to do that. Little do they know it’s doing more and more damage to their personhood with each conference they attend.
While it is easy to laugh at this (let’s face it; on some level it IS funny), it is ultimately rather depressing to see these poor souls who keep coming back to reassert their “brokenness,” as one of them said. That is the message of Exodus: you are broken and you need to be *fixed* or God will not love you. That was the worst thing about this video: all the talk of God’s love, and yet the clear subliminal message was: God will not love you if you are gay.
Wow! These people are all ssso ssstraight! Keep up the good work, Exodus!

They probably invade the QuiverFull forums and use an elaborate system of code phrases.
I agree with you Scott, although we laugh at their very obvious gayness, it’s tragic and sad that such attractive and innocent young people are WASTING their youth and maybe their entire lives on this criminal and spiritual sham that’s being perpetrated on them.
You’re so right, Gary; you’ve pinpointed the crux of the matter. Yes, we can laugh at “ex-gay” ministries and those who run them, and they are worthy of derision, but they’re not simply cranks who hold views that have no concrete application in real life (like creationism or geocentricism, for instance). That they may be sincerely convinced of the rightness of what they’re doing can’t alter the fact that they’re playing psychologically and spiritually abusive games with other people’s lives. That’s why they must be shown up for what they are.
This is all so depressing, those poor sad, delusional people.
Justin may be Justin Green, possibly, (if so, he has given his testimony at an Exodus conference before)
Janet in ths video is definitely Janet Boynes, has also given her testimony at Exodus in the past.

I strongly suspect some of these people are actors/charlatans and the rest of just brainwashed. I wonder how much it cost to attend this conference? Are there also DVDs, books, additional conferences/workshops in other cities for sale at the conference? This really makes me mad.
Why do they have to attend SO MANY of these conferences? I suspect that between the cost of traveling there and attending, it’s not cheap and can’t be easy to take the time off to do so from work.
I wish that these folks would understand something that the folks at Exodus are NOT going to be honest about:
being heterosexual isn’t something that takes PRACTICE, all that money and discipline.
Just as being gay doesn’t.
AFFECTING whatever they think being straight is, won’t change their lives either. Relationship problems occur in hetero couples based on some very specific things.
Mostly, unrealistic expectations. Especially in thinking you can change the other person.
And sexual orientation would on it’s face, be the ONE thing impossible TO change in anyone.
Talk about set up and punch.
Ex gays tend to have a quality, just as you all have noted, but straight people do sometimes too.
TRYING TOO HARD. Being hetero isn’t an affectation, it’s more than that.
Just as when men affect a hyper macho personification to offset their insecurities, this is no different.
And Exodus insults both gay and straight people when they hard sell narrow gender stereotypes in the mix.
This is so touching. As a thoughtful and sensitive gay man I too am dealing with a difficult inner struggle today. Just briefly, should I wear my red booty shorts and see-through white party t-shirt or my new low-cut supertight G-Star jeans and a black tanktop to Splash Bar tonight?
The best thing about the conference to them is that they get to MEET other people…other
Frustrated.
Lonely.
God fearing.
Jesus loving.
Gay sex enjoying.
Closeted….
Attractive…
Brothers and sisters!……Yes! Amen! >AHEM!<
