Old Scott Lively got the Daily Show treatment for his malevolently stupid assertion that the Nazis were a gay movement, therefore gays shouldn’t be able to serve in the military, because we are too “brutal.”
I got into an email exchange with Lively. He tried to sell me on his book. When I asked in what journal it was favorably peer reviewed, he changed the subject. He isn’t that bright, and when challenged he begins to quote the bible. He let me know that jeebus saved him from a life of alcohol and drug addition. I told him that just because he couldn’t get his s**t together, doesn’t mean that the rest of us are a bunch of losers who need some idiot religion to make it. It was a rather interesting, albeit tedious, exchange.
What I find really interesting is that there is a book by a Kent State professor who shows the strong connection between christianity and the nazis. Here’s the link:
I haven’t read it yet, but its on my list. As an aside, I just finished “The Bible Unearthed,” which is a great, great history of the old testament.

It’s apparent nearly ALL anti gay people aren’t too bright. Few even can ask intelligent questions, let alone ANSWER any in a way that didn’t come out of a can.
Just having an intelligent conversation is impossible. I’m not gay, but it’s interesting when they assume I am and how their tone changes. They start talking down to me as if to a little child. I don’t like stupid people, and I don’t like cowards.
That’s my definition of homophobes like Lively. If they look like someone’s college professor, they impress.
I’ve been shut down quickly after a few key questions. They try to make it look like the question or statement was beneath them answering, when really: they don’t have the smarts or the guts to.

My FAVORITE part:
Jason: “So that which you hate the most, you secretly are.”
Lively: “I’m not gay.”
Jason: “I didn’t say you were.”
This is brilliant.
Riiiiggghhhhttt! We’re so brutal, that’s why we’ve always been such easy pickins for gay bashers and bullies at school.

I found a good review of his book here:

Yes, Lively truly IS stupid.
