Look, somebody at CNN committed an act of journalism. If they’re going to have people like Tony Perkins on to be “fair to both sides,” journalists do have a professional responsibility to their viewers/readers to cut through the crap and let the audience know when one side is full of it.

Mr Perkins stated that “…the OVERwhelming evidence shows that children do best with a mother and a father.”
WHY was this “overwhelming evidence” NOT provided, when given EVERY opporutnity to do so, done during the trial?
Did Mr Perkins even HEAR or READ what the Pro Prop8 side had to SAY under cross examination?
This trial was the PERfect opportunity for “overwhelming evidence” to be, in NO uncertain terms, stated, delivered, revealed and presented by EXpert witnesses and testimony.
Said “expert” witnesses FAILED to do so simply put, because they were unABLE to do so, as the “evidence” for their side just doesn’t exist.
To continue to bleat otherwise is irrational, irresposnible and sheer denial.
Repeating over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over the SAME talking points and “argument” when incorrect, does not, and never will, MAKE it correct.
These people are saling as illogical a tack as one can. They NEED to be taken to task for this, and these points need to be brought up with them again and again and again.
There’s too much willingness for ANY media to let those under legitimit scrutiny to get away with NOT answering questions.
Can you imagine this happening to you as a child at home, in school, on the job site, in a business meeting?
Stop coddling these people and letting them speak and yet say nothing, nor give adequate answer.
er… legitimate
Perkins continues to evade with that “children do best with a mother and father” talking point. He is intentionally vague and never says that none of the studies he alludes to ever compared same sex household to heterosexual households.
Those studies compared two parent households to single parent households.
If Rick Sanchez, who isn’t the brightest bulb in newscasting, can understand what Judge Walker said in his opinion, why can’t Tony Perkins? Oh, he won’t? In that case, why does he get to go on the air?
Tony Perkins understands what Judge Walker says just fine, he just refuses to own up to it, therein lies the problem. They all know that their opinions are bigoted and based upon hatred of gays and also from a desire to continue to make money off the fight for equality, they just don’t care that these are the real reasons. The only thing they truly care about is that the undereducated members of society who support them don’t learn that these are the real reasons. They need them to keep funnelling money into their cause and by extension their pockets.
