Here is a new way to say, “take this job and shove it”. This is an excerpt from the New York Daily News:
The plane had just landed, but he was ready to take off.
A JetBlue flight attendant blew his top, grabbed some beer and bolted out an emergency slide at Kennedy Airport Monday – then headed home to have sex with his boyfriend.
After he was bonked in the head by a bag, Steven Slater stunned passengers by spewing profanity and ranting about quitting as the flight from Pittsburgh pulled up to the gate about noon.
“To the f—–g a–hole who told me to f–k off, it’s been a good 28 years,” Slater, 38, purred, cops said. “I’ve had it. That’s it,” he added, a passenger said.
The mad-as-hell steward grabbed a couple of brewskis and popped one open before activating the emergency exit, witnesses told airport employees.

Passengers deserve the same escape option when they discover that their seat has no legroom, the aircraft’s A/C is broken, the window has a crack, they’re 35th in line for takeoff, and the pilots haven’t had a break in 10 hours.
He started with the airline when he was 10?
He’s my hero. There are so many of these entitled passengers that just make it miserable on flight attendants and endanger other passengers. Where can I contribute to his defense fund?
Where is the reckless endangerment and criminal mischief. Sounds to me like had enough with rude passengers and I aggree with him.
When I first heard this story in TV they didnt say anything about him being gay, but being a male flight attendant and odds being what they are…..
Brian, when he dropped the chute to leave the plane it almost hit some ground crew personnel in the head–thus the charges. I work with the CRAZYASS public too, so totally sympathize this guy, *but* you have to be professional and remain in control at all times–even though it can be hard as hell.
wow, good to know gays can be belligerent criminals too.
Just like gay folks. We get angry, we tell folks to go to hell and then grab a cocktail or beer. Sorry – I couldn’t resist.
I read somewhere about his ex-wife relaying information about the case that she had obtained from Mr Slater’s mother. So a male fight attendant with an ex-wife might not be gay.
Flight attendants need more authority–and they should have handcuffs so they can lock these a******s who are endangering everyone into their seats until the police pick them up.
Gary NJ–according to the NYTimes, the ground crew was neither near the deployed ramp, nor endangered by it. The charges stem from the fact that they COULD have been endangered.
Sure, Slater broke some laws, so he deserves to be fined for that–but come ON! You can’t deny that there are an increasing number of obnoxious people out there whose exaggerated sense entitlement seems to excuse them from any sense of civil public behavior.
According to the Wall Street Journal, several passengers on the flight say Steven Slater was abusive and somewhat deranged toward them throughout the flight.
