Oy, this might be cute overload…
About thirty minutes ago, Neil Patrick Harris tweeted:
So, get this: David and I are expecting twins this fall. We’re super excited/nervous/thrilled. Hoping the press can respect our privacy…
Will that be the cutest family ever? Possibly.
Anyway, congratulations, boys!
In the future, any time one of our wingnut opponents starts spewing crap about how gays aren’t good parents, I’m viewing it as a personal attack on NPH, and you all should too.

I have no problem with them being gay. I have a problem with children being purchased like they are puppies.
Babies need their mommies. It needs to be made illegal for women to sell their babies and for anyone else to buy them, government included.

Adopted Child
KT, to put it kindly, you are way off base.
And way out of line.
I know plenty of kids raised, and raised very well, by two father homes. And two mother homes. And single parent homes of the widowed (male and female predeceasing their spouse, in hetero and gay marriages) and people who never married, but adopted. These kids are as healthy, happy, and well adjusted (and science backs this up) as kids raised in mom/dad homes.
Sorry you have issues. Sorry you feel, I gather, that you were failed in some way and are projecting this on others. But, get over it, and celebrate that these kids will be loved by two (hopefully wonderful) fathers who will love them.
KT, unfortunately, NONE of the data bears out what you say.
Your personal situation, whatever it is, and whatever you’ve been taught to blame for that situation, is not how we make policy.
KT, your uneducated. READ THE TRIAL TRANSCRIPT of the recent trial concerning marriage. ALL, let me repear that, ALL OF THE DATA bears out what I say….except the easily discoutned crap from the far right that HAS, beyond question, been discounted. Check with the American Medical Associatio, American Psychological Association, American Psychological Association, and ALL of the Pediatric Medical groups.
Sorry. You dont have a leg to stand on concerning this issue.
KT, no one’s purchasing babies, that is illegal. There will always be babies that cannot be raised by their birth mother, whether the mother is deceased, in jail, or simply incompetent. For every ungrateful adopted child like you there are a hundred who are happy with their adoptive parents and who consider them the only real parents they’ve ever had.
Of course it’s better for a child to be raised in poverty and abuse, rather than in a loving home that was prepared and is able to sustain them.
KT needs to be familiarized with Stillman White and Greg Stewart and the good they did fostering and adopting five troubled kids.
I’m really creeped out by what sort of homes anti-gay people must have grown up in, to be so fixated on what their parents’ genitals look like and how they fit together.
Dear KT, your right wing, Catholic, hyper-biased, and downright, factually wrong hyperbole has been proven false in a court of law. Time to drop the victim meme, the jig is up.
Maazel tov! Just twenty years ago you would not have seen an article like this in any magazine. Very few public people were “out.” We’ve made giant steps in just 20 years, but still haven’t come far enough and it has taken way too long.
I still cry sometimes when I think about all the people in all of time that have had to forego REAL lives with the ones they, truly, loved or have never gotten to form REAL families with the ones they loved, or that have never gotten to form everyday memories, like everyone else, with photo albums commemorating those milestones. It’s heartbreaking if you think about it. And I’m not even gay.
KT
Many women who can’t, naturally, conceive have utilized surrogate mothers. In the case of same sex couples, they cannot, naturally, conceive, either. It is not a “purchased” child. You are not making a valid argument. It merely sounds like more of the same prejudice that the LGBT community has lived with, well, since the beginnning of time. Should the courts take a child away form a father if his wife has died? Or take the child from his custody if he is a better parent than the mother? You are not being logical.
