Why does Gary Bauer hate 9/11 victims?
Surely most of them were almost twice that tall.
Liberal talking heads often suggest that opposition to the mosque at Ground Zero is just thinly veiled bigotry. They contend that the opponents of the mosque would oppose the construction of a mosque anywhere, and ask rhetorically, “How large should the mosque-free buffer zone around Ground Zero be?”
I’ve thought about that question, and here’s my suggested compromise: Back up the mosque one yard for every life that was lost at Ground Zero on 9/11. Three thousand lives lost equals three thousand yards away. If the organizers of the Ground Zero mosque would accept that compromise, the controversy would be over.
Does Gary Bauer have no one in his life who is willing or able to say the simple words, “Shut up. You are adding nothing to the national discourse. Go get a real job”?
Kyle at Right Wing Watch did the Liberal Math and determined that Gary Bauer’s Mosque Buffer Zone would be 1.7 miles around.
Somehow I have a feeling that if eight mosques were planned at equidistant points 1.8 miles around Ground Zero, Gary Bauer and the rest of them would find a new reason to run their wordholes against it, because for them, it’s not about principles, but rather about thoughtless knee-jerk bigotry and racism.

Well, obviously it’s bigotry, since he keeps referring to the proposed community center as a Mosque, which is an entirely different building.
And, again, another wingnut who forgets that Muslim Americans were among the people killed in the Twin Towers.
Shrill anti-gay activist Bauer is a hypocrite. If the Islamic Center were a Christian Church, he would be screaming that it was being attacked for its Christianity. Apparently, in Bauer’s perverse world, freedom of religion only applies to churches promoting the evil anti-gay agenda. Once he outlaws all mosques, are synagogues next? And then what comes after that?
I propose that for every child raped or beaten by a catholic priest, a 3 foot distance from schools and playgrounds must be kept from all RC churches. Oops–no more RC churches. What would Bauer think of that idiotic plan?
Surely Gary means only the white Christians who were killed. I’ll bet that brings the radius back in to just about a mile.
Bauer is a flaming idiot. Alan Keyes, Tom Tancredo, Sarah Palin, and he are a quite a cageful of feral lemurs, aka right wing morons.
Amos B. Alcott’s quote seems appropriate in any discussion of Gary Bauer: “To be ignorant of one’s ignorance is the malady of the ignorant.”
Bauer is so typical of the closeted homosexuals whose crying out against gays is an expression of their self-hate and longing to be themselves, minus the hate. They can’t do that, so they hate others who are gay. Pity Gary Bauer and all of them.
