If you care about the future of the United States of America, you will read this story in the New Yorker, “Covert Operations”. It chronicles the political influence of the Koch brothers, who have undermined democracy and are essentially in control of the Tea Party.
All that populist rage you see? It is a bogus AstroTurf campaign paid for and manufactured by shell organizations set up and funded by David and Charles Koch. I’ll write a larger post on this later. But if you read one story this year — this should be it. I think it explains quite a bit about the dire political situation that we now find ourselves in.

Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann have been reporting the corporate control of the teabaggers for the last 11-12 months. Rachel has talked about Koch’s influence before. Therefore, anything that helps get the truth out, such as the “New Yorker” article, is a great service to America.
Hey, I hate to do the annoying nitpicky thing, but this is technically New York Magazine, not The New Yorker. Easy to mix up, but they are different publications.
I just looked at the cover. It says, The New Yorker
[...] NY Magazine offers a profile of David Koch, one of the political and financial powers behind the Tea Party movement. (Via Truth Wins Out.) [...]
Your link is to the New York magazine story on the Kochs. The “Covert Operations” article you mention is in The New Yorker, at this link:

Whoops!
Thanks for pointing out the link JM. Much appreciated.
