Glenn Beck, offensively, thinks of himself as a new incarnation of Martin Luther King, Jr., a notion which nobody is buying. So wouldn’t it be handy if we had a way to compare and contrast King’s famous 1963 “I Have A Dream” speech and the 2010 Glenn Beck rally on its anniversary?

Furthering the Legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.
If the hopes and dreams (he and others like him) are not realised, or one is denied the opportunity of making them happen; then … by all means possible those in need must we take the initiative and do what needs to be done …
For the poor, disenfranchised to make it in this materialist world of gluttonous greed – the “ME-ME” mindset – it is going to take a lot more than “Go out and get a job at McDonalds” advice to actually make things happen.
Without Basic Service Delivery of: Health Care, Decent Affordable Housing, Proper Education, Family Structure, Community Support – just how are the “have not’s” supposed to cope and make anything of their lives?
So, to grant the evil and twisted agenda’s of the Glenn Beck’s of the world one iota of unwarranted attention is a direct slap in the face of all those who are desperately trying to just survive … to see another day of hope …
All it does is to make us realise that we cannot/must not give up or give in to the impediments dished out by corporate greed – the greed of the gluttonous insensitivity (government, churches, institutions – people with hidden agenda’s) that has become commonplace in this fragile world of ours – where nothing is permanent – “for he who is first will later be last – for the times – they are a changing”
It is for those who have the knowledge and education – the “supposed” born with where-with-all to stand up and put their money and efforts where their mouths are … not merely shout from podiums of privilege and garnish accolades of applause.
This is the legacy we should – need to impart unto our children and they onto their children; who one day can turn around and proudly proclaim … “My mother’s mother – my father’s father stood up … and were counted … made a difference for the betterment of humanity; they overcame ignorance …”
