He’s a doctrinaire social conservative — a serious Catholic, he wouldn’t answer whether he would allow abortion in cases of rape and incest. And he said he opposes not only gay marriage but also civil unions and gays serving openly in the military.
But when you’re a gay Republican, your view of “equal rights” is being allowed in a social conservative’s breathing space without being punched, much.

What Evan Hurst failed to highlight (am I surprised??)was that even the likes of Obama, H. Clinton and other Democrats during their respective candidacies for US President did not support our (gay) right to marry…so it seems Bielat is aligned with the leading Democrats on not only the marriage issue but with Bubba Clinton on the gays in the military issue. DEMOCRATS ARE USING US – QUIT VOTING FOR THE LIARS, QUIT GIVING THEM YOUR MONEY AND VOICE!

I think you bring up a good question. I think you look at the candidates. If the Dem has been supportive he gets my vote. If not I vote Green Party or write in someone. That’s what I am doing in my Governor’s race after the Democrat who has been in 4 years now says he would sign a same sex marriage bill even he has not tried to even propose it before. I know lip service when I get it. Luckily my Congressman and Senator have spotless records on GLBT rights and both will get my vote.
Oh yeah, GOProud. I always visualize the recent HomoCon event where those people are down on the floor at the feet of Ann Coulter offering their adoration, and pleading, “Oh, Ann!, Ann!!, pleeeeeeease give us what we deserve! Put us in our place, and STOMP ON US again, and again with those faaaaaaabulous shoes!!!”
