You really have to marvel at these soulless people. After a month where the bloody toll of anti-gay teachings and indoctrination has truly come into clear focus, you’d think they’d be taking a look in the mirror.
But hell, no. These are not normal, decent people.
Candi Cushman of Focus on the Family would like to minimize the gay children’s pain and and especially, their suicides, by saying that GLSEN’s survey showing that 9 out of 10 LGBT teens have been bullied is a suspect number, because it was compiled by the fags at GLSEN:
According to a recent survey by a pro-homosexual organization, nine out of ten LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) students said they experienced some form of harassment at school. But one education analyst is questioning the report’s credibility.
Candi Cushman, education analyst with Focus on the Family’s CitizenLink, says the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network’s (GLSEN) survey lacks objectivity.
“All of the data and the way it was interpreted was done by their own in-house activists,” Cushman points out. “The report lists four authors — all of whom are employed by GLSEN and who have been involved with GLSEN for many years, in many cases as volunteers in GLSEN’s local chapters.” The analyst describes the group as “hardly what you’d call an objective research team.”
[...]
Cushman believes GLSEN is using the survey to push its radical homosexual agenda in the public schools as it is working to incorporate homosexual and transgender themes throughout curricula in unrelated classes like math and English. “It can be read as a reliable road map of homosexual advocacy groups’ political plans for the nation’s public schools,” she writes.
Oh, Candi with an ‘i.’ Really. Dead kids. It’s time to shut up, really.
But you won’t, because morality, empathy and reality are non-entities on the Religious Right.

Candi fails to see that you can’t assess harassment and bullying of LGBTQ youth without asking LGBTQ youth, but she would never ask LGBTQ youth about this because then she would have to acknowledge they exist and have a voice. She is a despicable human being.
Non-heterosexual youth do not exist in the world of “Candi,” and in her amoral mind the violence that is committed against those youths is no more real than the mayhem in a Half-Life game.
Given her treatment of real people and real violence as if it were a TV show that can be ignored, one wonders whether she has any conscience or connection to the real world at all.
Off-topic: Why is it that conservative Christian women and Fox News weathergirls adopt the names and mascara of sex workers?
They all love those Gingrichy verbal constructions, don’t they. Every effort to promote civil rights (or even, stop kids from being bullied to death) is part of a “radical homosexual agenda.” So, just curious, Candi…is there a “moderate homosexual agenda” you people would support?
I suspect that radical Christians (hey, that IS fun!) can’t empathize with bullied kids because back in school, they were the bullies. Well, no, they were probably the ones standing behind the bullies, snickering at the abuse and egging them on.
So she can’t believe 9 out of 10 gay kids are harassed for being gay? I’ve got news for you, Candi: I was bullied for having a gay best friend. If anything, this poll understates the issue.
Alright Candi with an “i”. If you feel the results are skewed then how ’bout ya’ll pay for an independent and impartial study? Of course the results will remain the same though because the truth is the truth no matter how you slice it.
They don’t adopt those names, Mike. They just come from the same pool of Americans.
Candi wouldn’t know objectivity if it hit her upside the head.
It’s not so much a pool as a sewer, Evan.
Yea, it’s all radical “far right” white Christians, isn’t it? You know I went to a public school for half a semester and I can tell you almost all the bullying came from African American students from a single parent household. I’m fed up of you liberals claiming to be for equality, but when it comes to those who disagree, you show no hold back in name calling, prejudice, and discrimination.
P.S. I’m openly bi, and wouldn’t consider my self very conservative. Just fed up of the one sided bigotry on BOTH sides of the political spectrum and using these tragic suicides to promote your politics.
Gosh, so black people aren’t affected by “traditional” Christian teaching? I must be confused then, as to why it’s always socially conservative black AND white churches who bus people in to oppose gay rights measures in politics.
Thanks, but no thanks, to the concern troll.
It seems to me that this website is the biased one. Your rhetorical use of the word “fag” is hateful and acts as an impetus for the problem at hand here. How dare you? The fact of the matter is that gay kids are being bullies in school and bigots such as yourself are causing it. You can strike down the research as much as you want, but to what avail? So you can feel better about attacking people without the guilt of feeling like you lead to their death? Further, in classes like English, there is a wealth of queer literature out there that acts as a complete genre- how can we deny its relevance. And as far as math, the only place homosexuality could even potentially fit in would be in word problems where there is already a clear heterosexual bias.
This article is dripping with rhetorical and theological issues. Nobody who writes for this sham reporting website will ever be a successful individual if they use this reference on their resume. I’m almost ashamed that I spent this long reading and responding, but it was well worth it.
P.S. your copyright is expired. No matter though, nobody would want to take any of this “intellectual” property away from you.
*bullied
It seems to me that while Cushman used an objective and legitimate argument, this “article” seems hateful and biased. you spout the hate-filled words that induce anger and loathing, but I have faith that people with a brain, whether right or left wing. Wow, hateful and pathetic. Sad.
Steph, I have a feeling you’re a troll for that hate group called Focus on the Family.
Kile, I missed your comment months ago because it was apparently boring.
Steph, I’m sorry you’re so upset that your ideology leads gay kids to kill themselves that you’re trolling gay websites in the middle of the night in order to prop up your own major league denial.
You guys need to get a life
Kile seems to have misread the article, this website is AGAINST anti-gay bigotry and bullying. The use of the term “fags” was mocking Focus on the Family’s bigotry. I’ll admit, I also was misled by the title, until I read the article.
