Peter has shared some words about Jim Swilley, the Georgia megachurch pastor who has shown himself to be a man of integrity and honesty, by coming out to his congregation and the world as a gay man. Peter obviously doesn’t really “do Bible interpretation” beyond whatever pop-up version he keeps in his basement dungeon, having sharpie’d “NO GAYZ” all over the thousands of verses about caring for the poor, etc. Anyway, Peter says:
“This so-called ‘Bishop’ Swilley is a very confused man,” laments Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH). “He thinks he’s being honest about — quote — ‘who he is,’ but actually, he’s compromising the Word of God and he’s Christianizing sin, which is impossible.”
“Bishop” Swilley…if that is his REAL NAME…
LaBarbera contends Swilley should step down from his ministerial position, stop preaching the Word of God, and repent of his sin and the advocacy of it. Swilly [sic] has shared that his congregation has been supportive of his coming out for the most part, but the AFTAH president is not surprised that some members of his church have left.
So Peter concedes that Swilley is preaching the word of God. Interesting.
“There’s no doubt in the Bible about whether homosexual practice is a sin,” the conservative advocate points out. “He says he knew he was — quote — ‘gay’ since he was a boy. Most boys don’t think about sex, much less homosexuality, so we’re wondering what happened in his early life. Obviously, he’s a confused man.”
Most boys don’t think about sex?! Uh. Actually? What world did Peter grow up in where boys don’t start thinking about sex the second their bodies start changing? My goodness.
Anyway. Add Jim Swilley to the list of people Peter is scared of getting a patdown from in the airport.
Peter has less integrity than the kleenex that Jim Swilley threw out when he blew his nose had in it. Jim Swilley certainly doesn’t seem to be obsessed with HOMOSEX like Peter who famously goes to sexually charged sex festivals with camera in tow. How’s that for Christian like behavior. Can you see Jesus with a Kodak at Folsom St. Fair, or for that matter at a heterosexual porn movie set taking pics to show in church like the likes of Martin Seempa? These guys like many just don’t get it. I highly doubt anything happened to Bishop Swilley as a child that made him realize he was different Yes Peter put that in your crack pipe and smoke it, he is a Bishop as much as any other Bishop! What happened to you Peter as an adult that has caused your obsession with HOMOSEX, of all the things in the world to be obsessed with that you could be spending your time on that might actually help out the downtrodden in this world, you are obsessed with what adult same sex attracted me do and who they happen to be oriented towards loving. Go use your imaginary powers for good and stop draining peoples wallets to support your lifestyle!

Yes, Porno Pete has some nerve to attack Bishop Jim Swilley, but he does not attack ministers like Eddie Long, George Rekers, and Ted Haggard, who each deserved to be outed for their hypocrisy. Pretty soon, he’ll be caught getting out of a bathhouse wearing nothing but a leather harness and a*s-less chaps.

I don’t know much about Pete LaBarbera, but I suspect that his problem is one that many face nowadays. He must be in his mid 50′s and the rapid march of economic change has passed him by, making it truly difficult for him to make a midlife career jump. With his background, what would he do? His “religious work” is the only work he knows how to do that brings home good bacon, without having to go out and actually find a job which might get his hands dirty or give him a sweat. And the older you get, the harder manual labor is day in and day out. I bet we have Mr LaBarbera around until he can draw Social Security.
