Why is the American Family Association designated as an anti-gay hate group by the SPLC?

Usually, groups like NOM who try to pretend that they’re not motivated by bigotry will grant that they think gays should be able to visit their partners in the hospital, but here, you have the American Family Association and Matt Barber, who would rather hospitals keep loving spouses apart during times of illness and/or tragedy.

AFA’s OneNewsNow is ‘reporting’ that there is a move afoot to eliminate Kevin Jennings job & dept. . Then again, it looks as if the source is Brian Camenker so, considering the source perhaps it is just wishful thinking on the part of MassResistance.
