It’s laughable that this woman thinks she knows better than Secretary Gates.
So basically, prejudice against African Americans and women was irrational, but prejudice against LGBT people is not, simply because of where her own bigotry lies.

It wouldn’t be too much to ask of television that it present the two sides as “Elaine Donnelly, in favor of continuing institutionalized bigotry,” and “Service members, victims of that bigotry.” It’s outrageous to present the “two sides” as though one were not a persecutor and the other the persecutor’s victim. Would this interviewer ask a rapist if the victim deserved to be raped, and then give the rapists air time to explain that the victim deserved to be a victim? We are in fact victims of injustice and should be identified that way in these televised presentations.
Someone should strap Megyn Kelly down and make her watch this interview until she gets how to act like a good journalist.
What is it about these people that think that the United States military is somehow “different” from the military of ALL of the other countries that have allowed open gay and lesbians to serve? It’s been a total non-issue.
If they feel that everyone will up and quit then perhaps they should bring back the draft. Once wealthy, republican children start getting sent to the front lines I’ll bet there will be a lot of people that wished they had backed repeal.
