Well, this is good news:
On a 250-175 vote, and with at least 15 Republicans supporting the measure, the House of Representatives — in a chamber temprorarily presided over by Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) — passed a stand-alone bill aimed at the repeal of the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy on Wednesday, Dec. 15.
With about the same number of Democrats opposed to the measure as there were Republicans supporting it, the bill nonetheless passed with one more affirmative vote than when the House passed a stand-alne version of the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr., Hate Crimes Prevention Act. In that vote, 249 members voted yes, 18 of whom were Republicans.

YES!!!!!! Now let’s get busy and raise energy for it to get through the Senate!
Pathetic pandering to the gay lobby. Unfortunately our polticians don’t care what our military leaders say. Gates and Mullens are politicians and their views don’t represent the miltary chiefs or military rank and file. Military recruiting and reelistment will suffer as a result of repeal.
Based on your statistics which you cited that came from your butthole?
Newsflash: the only military people who care are Old Bigots. Anti-gay bigotry is dead in the younger generations, because bigotry is for the weak of mind and fearful of spirit, and if people actually don’t join the military/reenlist because they have to serve along openly gay people, then they obviously don’t have the f*****g Balls to be a part of the greatest fighting force in the world.
