Most wingnuts don’t read, prime examples are gw bush and palin. I think even ronald mcdonald reagan ‘bragged’ about not reading (too intellectual elitist). I suspect the best most of them can manage is a graphic novel (if that), as long as it’s only done in primary colors; otherwise too confusing.
This is such a sad state of affairs with our country. Nowhere else in the world do people pride themselves on being stupid. Just look at who gets elected from the Republican Party: Michelle Bachmann, Louie Gohmert, James Inhofe, that guy who quoted the Bible as “proof” that global warming cannot possibly exist. These officials should not even be elected to the PTA let alone our highest legislative body. The last educated conservative we elected president was Richard Nixon. What has happened to the Republican Party? There used to be educated conservatives, but where are they now? Most have left for either the Democratic Party or are now Independents because they can’t stand the idiocy that now runs the party. Here’s the canary in the coalmine: when the Nixons, the Eisenhowers, and the Reagans all come out in support of the Democratic candidate for president, then you know the Party has gone off the deep end. The inmates really are running the asylum.
I don’t think its fair to say “First some moron lady says her favorite book is her “kitchen table,”” when she misheard the question and was in essence saying her favourite bar is her kitchen table. That’s the sort of twisting of facts we expect from anti-gay right wingers, I’d like to think we’re above that.
I don’t like any of these 5 wingnuts as people or politicians, but like Jon Stewart, I gotta give props to the one young guy there who clearly visibly caught Steele’s Tale of Two Cities gaffe and even more visibly fought to swallow his “OMFG are you THAT stupid?” reaction and try to keep looking professional. He may be yet another Republican anti-gay twerp, but swallowing that reaction took a lot.
