This woman is not insane at all, and neither are her friends:
Just yesterday, we received an urgent prayer alert from our good friend Chuck Pierce concerning California.
[...]
Yesterday, January 4th, I was called by a key intercessor in Santa Ynez. (Please note as you proceed, yesterday was the same day prop 8 was sent to the California Supreme Court) She reported two visions from separate individuals in the area:
A pastor of a large Nazarene Church had a dream of a very large earthquake on the central coast. He shared this at the Christmas gathering for all the Santa Maria Pastors and 5 cities area. Because of the destruction and intensity of the quake he thought he should tell the Pastors so they could pray into it.
Another intercessor in the area had a dream and saw a map of California. She noticed on the map how Pt. Conception juts out into the water. As she looked she saw an 8 with a circle beside it in the waters off Pt Conception.
Regarding these dreams the issue of 8 is significant:
Yesterday, January 4th, Prop 8 went to the California Supreme Court.
December 8th, 1787 was when the Mission near Point Conception was founded. The earthquake the pastor sensed from the Lord would be 8.0 or larger.

Prop 8 is a foundational covenant issue, i.e. issue of marriage, in the state. If the state supreme court does not uphold it, a covenant issue is broken with God. Judgment is looming. Also, of note yesterday it was announced on the radio and sent to me by another intercessor that in San Diego, there is a Korean war memorial. A judge has ruled that a cross that was dedicated in the 1950′s, cannot be there, as it is, because it stands for the the government embracing “a religion”. The implication was that it had to be “modified”. She stated in her note to me, “the MOMENT I heard this I had a “sinking feeling” in my heart and said out loud in my car. God will not contend this any longer, judgment is coming.”
Many are feeling the weight of this hour and time. There has been a very real assignment of death and destruction as many have faced health issues, even serious ones. We are at a critical “hinge point” and much will depend on our prayers and actions now. An earthquake from Point Conception would divide impact the state in three major fault lines and could potentially divide the state in half. We pray this stirs your hearts towards God’s purposes. Our hope and trust is in Him.
Okay.

So, let me get this “straight”…they believe in a supreme being with the power to create an entire limitless universe containing billions of planets and stars but this being has time to devote to micromanaging the outcome of a court decision on one tiny planet in one tiny corner? And wouldn’t this being have a much more efficient method of eliminating this tiny planet (like flicking it with it’s omnipotent finger) than waste time with earthquakes?
On the other hand, apparently their supreme being sends messages and commands about as clearly as my boss does. Mine just uses cryptic emails instead of dreams and tea leaves.
So… Beating up gay people will prevent earthquakes… yeah, that makes me want to be an ex-gay Christian. Couldn’t live with the guilt if California slides off into the ocean.
Holy Crap, Batman. Someone’s been playing too much with their Magic 8 Ball.
Oh wow. A dreamlike “prophecy” of an earthquake in California. Next thing you know, one of these Christian leaders will receive another dream that water will continue to be wet or that fire will still burn. For real!
However, let’s say that this is indeed a message from God. Did anyone stop to think that maybe this is in fact a warning from God in support of His LGBTQ children? Maybe He’s saying that if Prop 8 is allowed to stand and discrimination against His LGBTQ children continues, then He’ll send an earthquake to punish his straight children for oppressing their gay brothers and sisters. You see, that’s the problem with “prophecies,” interpretations can go either way.
I love it! A vision of an 8.0 quake — prop 8. Get it?! May the big one swallow them up along with their bogus “churches”!

It is true that natural catastrophy does draw us closer to our source. This is for ALL peoples….it has nothing to do with a persons sexual orientation.
Love is ALWAYS waiting with arms open for ANYONE who has strayed from the warmth there of.
A Prop 8 vitcory(for GLBT) would certainly quake many unfavorable folks minds and hearts….. Certainly “God” would be in the epicenter of “that” quake…..unloving attitudes are some of the most violent….an abhorrance to LOVE who IS GOD.
So, if god is going to inflict catastrophe on California for allowing equal marriage, why hasn’t he inflicted catastrophe on Canada which has allowed equal marriage for years? Or on any of the other countries and states that have allowed equal marriage?
And Charles, I abhor your imaginary god (that one was for you, Emily).
Why is it that when we have natural disasters in ‘red’ states like wild weather, floods, ice storms, hurricanes, the fundos never see it as a ‘punishment from God’, but every time there’s the slightest anomaly in nature in a ‘blue’ state like CA, it’s a sign of the ‘end of days’?
As my father would have said, “what a bunch of horse s**t!”
Confirmation bias, Gary.
I would like to ask these idiots why God could tolerate the slaughter of Native Americans, Slavery, a Civil Way, the interment of Japanese Americans in concentration camps, and coverups of pedophile priests, but gay couple getting married is the ONE THING that pushes him over the edge.
I’m sure whatever answer they give will be idiotic and entertaining.
If anything that tests us as human beings and the more enlightened among us is how we treat someone because they are different or when misfortune befalls them.
Natural disasters have always created so much fear and sense of helplessness and questions regarding offending higher powers.
When it’s all said and done, what does it say about you to point a finger at another human being who has NO say or power in the disaster, rather than give comfort and aid (which IS within the power of human beings to do)when those disasters happen?.
Looking for the easiest scapegoat doesn’t mean you’re the most favored and moral person, it means just the opposite in fact.
If there is any accounting being done by a higher power, it’s not sending disasters to punish, it’s disasters testing the moral ethics and compassion of those in the face of one.
When it’s all said and done, of course there are people who commit their own personal disasters. We see everyday people who make stupid and selfish choices regardless of the PREDICTABLE outcomes.
We see people commit deliberate mean and heartless crimes on others for no reason other than they felt like it.
Even these bewilder us, and cause us to question why. Even the perpetrator may never answer and feel no obligation to. God doesn’t answer to US, either and never has.
Trust those people whose faith is in the fair and equal treatment of another person. Their moral commitment is in assuring that a person gets what they themselves would want.
Distrust those who give themselves and their audiences and closest social network, and especially natural disasters and intangible beings, every excuse not to.
If nothing else, this points out the insanity of the religious right. Like God has the time or inclination to get his loincloth in a twist over Prop H8. These people really are sick and deluded individuals.
God is upset with Canadian gay marriage, but he forgot to put any opposing plates there so there is no tectonic activity to cause earthquakes.
gee, earthquakes in california? Im gonna use my powers of prophesey and predict a lot of hype over the upcoming awards season! oh! and I see…Joan Rivers and a blue ribbon panel of queens, making catty remarks about what people are wearing….ooooooh, scary!
I also had a dream, an Angel of the Lord came to me in a dream about 4 years ago. The Angel took me high above into the Heavens and showed me something that looked like a map. California stood out. He said to look a pay attention . I looked down at earth and seen on the Coast of California almost midway up, maybe near POINT OF CONCEPTION, A NUMBER 8. all around the number 8 were different colors, starting with Red,green, blue, yellow and black. I don’t remember what order but these colors covered hundreds of miles on the map. The number 8 was the impact of an earthquake that would come and the colors and how they were spread out was in reference to the damage and the magnitude that would be affected. The Angel made it clear to prepare, I don’t know how or when but it seemed real.
I believe the time is getting closer.God has always warned his people and while in prayer I have always asked the Lord to give me warning in time of chaos.
Cyndi, it is your right in a free country to channel magic and issue death-wishes against people in faraway places.
But please don’t pretend that your ill-will, smug religious self-satisfaction, and blasphemy are Christian.
Cyndi: You are in need of psychiatric counseling and probably some medication.
There is no evidence that “angels of the Lard” exist, let alone do they come give warnings to nincompoops about future catastrophes. If your god is so concerned about warning folks of this natural disaster, why doesn’t he just prevent it from happening? Doesn’t he love people? Thought he was all powerful, Cyndi. Or maybe he’s bored and just likes to stir up the pot a little. He sure seems to have been stirring up the pot in the buybull belt this year (tornadoes, droughts, wildfires, oil spills), hasn’t he?
I agree with Paul. Cyndi, you need to seek therapy.
I have crazy dreams that seem real too. Then when I wake up I realize how ridiculous they are.
