The thing about wingnuts is that they have very little in the way of humanity or compassion toward other human beings:
North Carolina state Rep. Larry Brown (R), whose controversial comments have offended members of the gay community in the past, has announced plans to remove HIV/AIDS treatment from state-funded medical coverage.
“I’m not opposed to helping a child born with HIV or something, but I don’t condone spending taxpayers’ money to help people living in perverted lifestyles,” Brown told the Winston-Salem Journal.
Brown told the Journal he doesn’t believe HIV/AIDS patients should be covered for diseases caused “by the way they live,” saying that any patients who contracted such illnesses “sexual behavior or drugs” should pay the full cost of treatment themselves.
Nice. No further commentary is necessary here, as people like Larry Brown damn themselves with their own unfiltered words in the eyes of sane people.

Is there a reason worse than hate, perhaps?
I think this vile man wants more money for himself and the corporations in his district that elected him.
So, like too many of today’s moral conservatives, he’s eager to defame and kill certain people, and cheat others out of misallocated tax dollars, in order to enrich his own interests. Maybe that’s worse than pure hate.
Just sick. He’s nothing more or less than a right-wing hater.
Will he also move to cut off funding for diabetes care, because drinking too much soda and eating greasy foods can give one diabetes, which has to do with “the way one lives”? Surely he is aware that there are heterosexual, married, HIV-positive people in his state. And, has he no notion of how humanely to protect public health? HIV untreated is far more likely to be spread than if the infection is treated. For drug-dependent people who acquire HIV, what is his plan – give them no treatment and let them die in the streets? A human being with drug dependency issues can overcome them and be a productive and loving member of society, unlike this Brown s**t.
This is the most ignorant comment! Not only am I going to mention rape victims, occupational exposures, and contaminated blood products, but what about disease like diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol? You could make the argument that a large percentage of those diseases are due to sedentary and slothly life choices! Why should our government cover those health conditions and not cover an infectious disease!
And don’t forget to cut the funding for lung cancer treatment. Oh, wait, never mind: North Carolina leads the nation in tobacco farming. I’m sure Larry Brown is encouraging people to maintain the smoking lifestyle so the money keeps rolling in.
