I guess this is a step in the right direction:
In a new GQ profile, Rev. Ted Haggard addresses the continued assumptions that he’s gay, following revelations years ago that the prominent evangelical had a drug-fueled sexual relationship with a gay male former escort: “I think that probably, if I were 21 in this society, I would identify myself as a bisexual.”
But, he told GQ’s Kevin Roose: “I’m 54, with children, with a belief system, and I can have enforced boundaries in my life. Just like you’re a heterosexual but you don’t have sex with every woman that you’re attracted to, so I can be who I am and exclusively have sex with my wife and be perfectly satisfied.”
The profile provides a few other tidbits about Haggard, who resigned from the New Life Church and from his position as president of the National Association of Evangelicals after he admitted to the affair with his male meth dealer, who was also a prostitute.
Allrighty.

“…I can be who I am and exclusively have sex with my wife and be perfectly satisfied.”
Um, except that he, uh…WASN’T.
Well, I guess that’s progress. Sort of.
Last we heard from The Haggard One, he was straihgt with issues.
Now he’s bi. Does that mean that all that “I’ve been cured” stuff was just more lies to himself, to his congregants, to his family, and to his god? Does that mean that a cure is impossible because there is nothing to cure, or merely that he has not prayed hard enough, or given of himself to Jesus hard enough, to effect that promised miracle?
As I wrote many times when this was unfolding:
“I used to be gay, but now I’m straight.”
really just means:
“I was always somewhat bisexual– aren’t we all?– but the gay part really bothered me.”
“Just like you’re a heterosexual…” Wouldn’t that phrase imply that the speaker is thus referring to himself as the opposite; a homosexual?
Yes he is imposing boundaries. No sex with men while I am married! Dang it I hate it when I do that!

Yes and yes.

No, a person can be heterosexual, bisexual, gay, or asexual. While the opposite of heterosexual might be gay, to suggest you’re not heterosexual could also mean you’re bisexual or asexual.
Last year straight, this year bi, next year ____? Its pretty common for men having difficulty in coming out to do it in stages they can handle. I did it myself for 6 months or so back in the early ’70s. Kind of like wanting to swim in a big cold lake… some of us can only start by sticking our toes in and doing it gradually.
Awww, I remembered when I did that. “Im not a lesbian, im bisexual” I was so adorabe…
Emma, just because you lied about being bisexual doesn’t mean everyone else is lying about it.
A counselor of Ted Haggard initial P.N. stated good ole’ Teddy boy is deserving to go back and shepherd a flock!!
Well P.N!! Now what do you say now that your PET WOLF has admitted to being BI SEXUAL!!!
I would suggest you quit leading folks to a false lying shepherd!!
Gotit P.N!!
