Barron has come on the show several times in he past. My program was among the first media outlets to give his group any attention when it first broke off from the Log Cabin Republicans. We’ve had spirited but respectful discussion, as we disagree on just about everything. He seemed to revel in it, enjoying the back and forth, and certainly was not as angry and defensive as he is in this interview.
Not only did GoProud always come on the show when asked — either Jimmy LaSalvia or Barron would come on — but they reached out to my producer to come on the show at other times when we did not ask and we declined, as it wasn’t the best time or was not about something we were interested in. I say that because Barron outright lied in this interview, claiming that he often doesn’t come on my show (implying I asked and he declined), supposedly because of the way I treat him. That’s when I ended the interview. I’m not going to put up with a liar who had clearly become flustered because he was caught in a contradiction so now was changing the subject.

Meltdown? Really? Mike S. was asking stupid, irrelevant questions and then kept talking over Barron. Crappy interview, Evan.
And interestingly, if he has 1% of 20 million listeners (SIRI actually has 35 million), that’s only 200,000. Not too long ago, though, OutQ only had 26,000 regular listeners. In radio, both numbers are insignificant. I’ll grant, though, that 200,000 on SIRI might be.
Define “stupid questions.”
It was an important line of questioning, actually, because it reveals that GOProud are more worried about deferring to their wingnut overlords, tucking tail from completely honest statements like “Cleta Mitchell is a nasty bigot,” while they actively work against what they call the “gay left,” i.e. most gay people.
Thank you, Evan. Chrissy comes off like some little adolescent girl with his meltdown. Any GLBT person that wants to be a part of GOProud is actively working against the interests of the GLBT community. I have yet to meet even ONE LCR or GOProud type who wasn’t a self-loathing queen interested only in their personal wealth.
The Chris Barrons of the world need to be reminded repeatedly that the reason they were able to muster the courage to “come out” is thanks to the “gay left” who methodically paved the way during the last 40+ years (and no thanks at all to the closeted gay right, many of whom were deceiving women into marrying them in order to preserve their social status).
I listen to OutQ quite a bit and no one ever asks or checks on what I’m listening to, or how often, so speculating on ‘how many people listen to him’ is a pretty inaccurate speculation. Besides, who cares if it’s 200,000 or more or less; culturally and financially lgbt people give much more to this country and the world than we get back, so providing a few radio and tv stations for our interests is the least *they* can do.
BTW, I’m impressed by the number of heterosexuals who call into these ‘gay’ shows, so I suspect Signorile has more listeners than tgc thinks.

The ironic part is that unless they’re amongst the super rich (and probably none of them are) supporting the Republicans works against their personal wealth – self loathing and stupid.
