It’s sad, actually. Why did the police release this to the public, other than to humiliate him? You see, in the United States, we have made a decision to place alcoholics, drug abusers and the mentally ill in jails and prisons rather than to any place where they can get real treatment. I don’t find this funny in the least.
To be fair, though, Howard, we don’t know that this is an “alcoholic” or anything else — he drove drunk, obviously far past the legal limit. So we don’t really know that he needs “treatment” per se.
