Well, that’s at least what they tell gullible reporters like Lisa Ling. However, I can’t help but noticing these allegedly “apolitical” activists keep finding themselves testifying in state houses. Here is “ex-gay” activist David Digiacomo testifying today against civil unions at the Colorado Senate.

This is another stupid hick in fly-over country! Yech! Thank goodness you can’t catch it through a computer.
I believe that’s the same table where ‘anus expert wingnut lady’ was sitting in a previous posting. Did this guy check the chair before he sat down?
So, since he had abusive partners in his domestic partnerships, and civil unions take longer to legally separate and thus would’ve made the period of the abuse longer for him, civil unions shouldn’t be allowed? Huh?!?!?!
By the exact same logic, we should also deny heterosexuals the right to leghally recognized unions, since not all heterosexual relationships are fairy-tale happy.
The “ex-gay” wingnuts never fail to amaze. This guy had a bad relationship with a man so he doesn’t want any other GLBT people to have at least the minimal legal protections afforded by entering into civil unions. Just another mean-spirited JERK.
like gay people are the only ones who mess up. Where is the line/ Let you tell me my story and somehow I am still straight.
It’s the same old blah-blah from the same old blah.
Maybe some ex-Christians should start testifying in Congress and in courts about how religious people don’t need rights and protections. What’s good for the goose after all….
So maybe we should get some abused wives to testify against heterosexual marriage. Takes them “a lawyer and a lot of bucks” to get out of that! And obviously, abuse, marrying the wrong person, marrying immaturely or for the wrong reasons, and the challenge of trying to build a relationship in the midst of addictions, all imply that heterosexual marriage shouldn’t be allowed!
Lisa Ling kept pushing in the after show how she was so pleasantly surprised by Exodus since they were “no longer recruiting”, etc. She bought into all Exodus’ ad lines without challenging a single one. On Alan Chambers own bio page he characterizes himself as a “Christian Executive”. Hello? His cash business is to make money off these victims. That is his self-described ‘profession’.
Why didn’t Lisa Ling investigate the very curious fact that every one of these so-called successful ‘ex-gays’ in her show was a former druggie, super promiscuous, a rape victim, a molestation victim, etc (Ethan, Christian, Alan Chambers, and that Black lesbian priestess). Then after living a squalid life they go on the make a profession of ex-gaydom, literally making it a cash livelihood. Why didn’t Ling investigate why groups like Exodus NEVER EVER feature people who were gay airline pilots, firefighters, attorneys, cops, or construction foremen who decided to go ex-gay?
Oh boy, another struggler with his being gay. Yea, it’s a struggle alright. A struggle to find some simple human worth amid all the fucked-up condemnations we hear from guys like this joker. His answer is the same as all the “others” who want so desperately to “help” us. “Just be something other than who you are. Be like us and we’ll leave you the f**k alone.” Amazing how it never dawns on guys like this that just maybe it wasn’t all those personal let-downs and disappointments in his love life that were the problem. Just maybe it was that he couldn’t handle them like an adult. Haven’t we all had hurts and disappointments along the way? How can anyone with rudimentary intelligence believe that just being str8 is a sure way to not have romantic/intimate disappointments? For Christ’s sake, LOOK at the divorce rate, bozo!
