Tomorrow, I’m going to spend some time explaining, in a fairly thorough way, why exactly we’re doing what we’re doing with our petition to Apple to remove the bigoted “ex-gay” app from Exodus International. We recognize that there are some who simply aren’t clear [including high level Apple execs?] on why people are so outraged by this, so like I said, we’ll spend some time on that in a serious way tomorrow. Meanwhile, Bryan Safi has used his latest episode of “That’s Gay” to break it down into ridiculously simple and very entertaining terms:

Tell people that ex-gay bigotry against homosexuality is a psychological equivalent of self-mutilation. Ask Apple if it would market and profit from apps instructing people how to mutilate themselves.

In terms of Uganda, Exodus knew exactly what it was doing. The group was warned about going over to Kampala and went anyway. Exodus only distanced itself from the situation when they were exposed in the national media.
