Well, I wish I could say this is unbelievable, but it’s unfortunately par for the course when it comes to extreme fundamentalists:
A former youth pastor in Council Bluffs, Iowa, says he had sex with teenage boys because it was his pastoral duty “to help (the teen) with homosexual urges by praying while he had sexual contact with him.”
But law enforcement has a different view of his actions. Earlier this month, Brent Girouex, 31, was arrested on 60 counts of suspicion of sexual exploitation by a counselor or therapist, reported The Daily Nonpareil.
In February, Girouex told Council Bluffs police detectives that he had sexual contact with four young men starting in 2007 in order to help them gain “sexual purity in the eyes of God.”
But Pottawattamie County Attorney Matt Wilber told the Nonpareil that at least eight men have come forward with complaints that Girouex molested them.
But, you see, there was a rhyme to his reason:
“When they would ejaculate, they would be getting rid of the evil thoughts in their mind,” Girouex allegedly told detectives.
Oh, my god. This is what the fundamentalist lifestyle does to people. It’s absolutely grotesque.
I think he’s a pedophile trying to convince the criminal justice system that he should be found not guilty by reason of insanity.
This is just another example of why Dateline NBC needs to resurrect the “To Catch a Predator” series.

There must be a special corner in hell reserved for men who try to hide behind or use God as a way to deflect blame for the harm they have done to men, women and children by abusing their positions of trust. “Ex gay” ministries and conferences are notorious for rampant gay sex, at least in the gay community. What’s different about this is the coercion and misuse of the self asserted status of therapist.

Girouex is not an extreme fundamentalist conservative Christian who was trying to “fix” gay boys, but a pedophile who used the church to prey on young boys. Your outrage is misdirected. Again, he is not an extreme fundamentalist but only used that cover to develop the relationship in which he abused these boys.
Jim Parker, that’s your opinion, based on no proof whatsoever. I choose to believe Girouex when he says he has religious beliefs that are that are completely irrational, as all religious beliefs are completely irrational. Prove I’m wrong.
