Believe me, Prop 8 wouldn't have been passed without a lot of Baptist support. The good thing about growing up Mormon is that after being in one cult I tend to shy away from other cults--no matter how large, old, entrenched or respected they are. There are a lot of faiths I consider to have very peculiar, and even offensive belief systems, which still strike me as being communities. But LDS and other very highly regimented denominations strike me as more stockade then community.
