In Indiana, the state Senate has just passed a bill 40-10 to ban marriage for gays and lesbians. The House passed it a few weeks ago. Luckily, it can’t become law before the next legislature votes on it, and then voters have their say. Still, ridiculous.
Meanwhile, due to elected, poorly constructed wingnuts, the Montana House has been unable to get a bill out of committee to repeal the state’s law against, um, gay sex. This is, of course, goes against a Montana Supreme Court ruling, and also Lawrence v. Texas, but hey, it’s wingnuts. What are you gonna do?
Now you know about Indiana and Montana.

g*****n it, Indiana…
They’ve been trying for years to get that through. Usually it blows through the house and is stopped by the senate, but not this time, I guess. I probably should be surprised it took this long; it got a little bit closer at every attempt. Hopefully the Assembly will stop it. I’m sure as hell sending word to all the Hoosier friends and family members I can to keep their heads up.
‘Course, I’m really hoping that this’ll buy enough time for a federal ruling to render it all moot, but I admit that’s just a hope.
what do we expect? these are the same people who would rather break the law, something they’ve been claiming about Obama for years, to pass legislation no one wants in wisconsin and who claim school teachers, fireman and public workers are all evil. Nothing new here move along….but oh wait, i wanna thank all the idiots in nov 2009 for voting these people into office. At the very least, Dems pretend to have our collective backs, rethuglicans just want to rule us like slave masters should.
whoops 2010, i haven’t had my coffee yet :P
