This is an actual ad being run by the Family Action Countil of Tennessee (“FACT” [sic]), in support of a big government bill [because social conservatives have zero principles] which would prohibit municipalities from offering nondiscrimination protections not covered by state law. It’s a fairly desperate move, and this ad shows just how desperate.
The Family Action Council of Tennessee is a state level affiliate of a little SPLC-certified hate group known as the Family Research Council.

They ran this same lying ad in Gainesville, FL and lost the vote because of it.
They ran this same ad during a similar campaign in Kalamazoo MI a year and a half ago. They also sent out color mailings with names and photos of transgender individuals in MI. Fortunately the public voted for the expanded ordinance which included employment and housing protections for LGBT people.
They just keep recycling the same hateful, ridiculous ad every time a transgender rights bill comes up. Anybody with half a brain knows that dude isn’t transgender, and he’s not what the bill is designed for. But bigots have never been known for logic or honesty.
I’m relieved that at the very least it’s an anti-trans bill ad that features no trans people. Although it’s really poorly done. Did he do it himself in his office? Most boring fear-mongering I’ve ever seen.
Although really, given that female to male transsexuals are so frequently tied to female bathrooms, this ad could be spun in SUPPORT of gender expression just by changing the text.
“Do you want men in the girl’s bathroom? She doesn’t. And he doesn’t want to be there either. This isn’t the Tennessee any of us want. Vote accordingly.”
Oh god not this ad again. Can’t they think of anything else besides this discredited b******t? Citation of evidence that anything bad has happened to cis people as a result of trans-equality ordinances, please.
Vi, you nailed it on the head. What the idiot bigots don’t seem to realize is that they’re asking the butchiest, hairiest men to be forced to go in the women’s restroom, where they are causing discomfort for women in there. And then you put women in the men’s room and that’s a disaster waiting to happen.
But then when you throw in the fact that even the ad says that this is for employees using restrooms at a business, it makes their lie even more stupid and reachy.

And of course ‘the woman’ was a little blond girl. This definitely and no doubt intentionally had overtones of pedophilia. I’m surprised they didn’t have a black guy going in after her, for added effect. It is TN after all.
