Oh look, it’s the same tired rhetoric we’re used to from the laughable hate group known as PFOX:
Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays & Gays (PFOX) is urging parents, students and educators to distribute ex-gay literature at high schools and colleges across the country this Friday.
“We invite schools to distribute our ex-gay brochures year round,” said Regina Griggs, PFOX’s executive director, “but this Friday is especially important because it is considered a ‘day of silence’ by homosexual school clubs. This means that members of gay student clubs and their allies will purposely remain silent all day in school to protest intolerance against homosexuals and cross-dressers.”
“Because homosexual activists try to censor the ex-gay point of view, PFOX asks students to distribute ex-gay literature to their friends in support of equality for the ex-gay community,” said Griggs. “The day of silence enables students to distribute ex-gay literature without harassment since opponents are obligated to remain silent that day.”
And again, we roll our collective eyes and say:
REGINA. If “ex-gays” really exist, then they are “straight,” and thus have the same rights as all other straight people, by which we mean, more rights than gay people. If “ex-gay” is simply a religious construct caused by consumer fraud and spiritual abuse [it is], then those people are gay, and are on the same second tier as the rest of us gay people.
Anyway, it’s really sick that, on a day which simply seeks to draw attention to the bullying, harassment, depression, violence and suicide experienced by LGBT teens, things which are largely caused by the climate of abuse created by the Religious Right, that Regina Griggs would still feel a perverse need to hurt gay kids. But that’s how people like Regina are, and thank goodness, people young and old are starting to see them for the bigots they are.

Isn’t it special that they use the Day of Silence, a day designed to bring attention to bullying of LGBT people, to engage in more bullying of LGBT people?

I would never put up with it, and just cannot imagine how he does. Talk about a lack of self respect…love, no doubt, but, the lack of self respect is just appalling.

What in hell is the “ex-gay community”? Come on Regina, you just made that up, didn’t you” As stated in this article, I presumed that “ex-gay” meant “STRAIGHT” all caps! You’ve joined the right people and now are sexually a cookie-cutter image of them and they love you for it. Regina, pull you head out of your a*s and get a breath of real air for a change.
If you care about what the God of the Bible says concerning sin, you won’t find what He says about the lifestyle practice of homosexuality, fornication, adultery, thievery, lying, etc. laughable. I don’t think that most people care about what God says about sin, repentance, etc. until they are convicted in their hearts. People are laughing at the God of the Bible more and more these days. Do you think that that is a coincidence? I don’t think so because we are in the last of the last days. People will mock Jesus Christ, and righteousness in the last days. The bottom line is that people think that they have a right to give into all of their desires because people think that they are their own gods. But that is not true. We are the created, not the Creator. Many fake Christian ministers, particularly these televangelists who are interested in lining their pockets with money, are selling their souls for money. They will exchange the truth, which is God’s word/bible, for the lie because they loved the lie more than the truth. Homosexuality is one of the lies that the devil uses against people. The devil knows that if he can get people to believe that they are homosexual from childhood, then he has them right where he wants them. Don’t you think that if God hates homosexuality, he can take those desires away? Once you become a born-again Christian and you actually try to obey God, He will make sure that these homosexual desires do not rule your life. It might not happen overnight, but He will be faithful if you follow Him. Most people don’t follow Him so that is why they don’t see change in their lives. Homosexuality is not the same as being born black, white, hispanic, etc. Homosexuality is a lifestyle practice. So you can’t put the two in the same category. It seems too convenient to put the two in the same category.
Hey J, my advice is for you to put down your Bible pages, and pick up the Yellow Pages to find a mental health professional. You obviously need someone to help you get on a path towards accepting reality while simultaneously shedding your superstitious beliefs.
