![BinLadin BinLadin 648x1024 Osama bin Laden Has Been Killed [UPDATED with video]](http://www.truthwinsout.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/BinLadin-648x1024.jpg)
It’s 10:07 PM Central as I post this, and MSNBC just reported that the President will be addressing the nation in approximately ten minutes.
News outlets are reporting that he was killed by US military personnel in Pakistan, we have the body, and the CIA led the operation.
This is huge. I’ll post video when it’s available.
UPDATE: Here ’tis:

I for one am not sad he’s dead. Good riddance.
I don’t know about this. I don’t like hearing about the death of any person. I’m a pacifist at heart, I guess.
The only thing I can think of is he was a living human being. He was misguided and a fool but he was still alive. Yes, his actions caused the deaths of 1000s of people, but does that give anyone the right to take his life and the lives of those around him or associated with him?
Revenge is petty and childish, makes us as bad as them and ultimately doesn’t make a bit of difference. In fact, it often makes things worse. Osama bin Laden is dead. The American army (thus the American government and the American people) killed him. Someone is going to want to take revenge on that. And when they do, where will we be? What will happen? Revenge. Again. And again, and again… It will never end, because that is what revenge does. It destroys. It destroys people from the inside out. It destroys nations and, taken to extremes, destroys the earth we live on.
The republicans worst nightmare. Bin Laden being taken out under a democrat.
I hope Obama stuffs his head like a hunting trophy and sticks in on his wall to hover above his oval office desk.
Violence is not always wrong. I’m also thrilled Hitler was killed. Mass murderers need to be stopped. This is not a day for handwringing. This is a day to rejoice.
f**k Osama bin Laden.
Muir, thanks ever so for the ABC After School Special post. What you’re repeating is the Christian doctrine of “turn the other cheek” and it is simply nonsense. Anyone who did this would indeed be slapped on the other cheek and even the Christians tacitly admit it is garbage because they don’t practice it. I prefer philosophies like the Golden Rule, which is found in many different religions and cultures and does usually work.
If the Gay rights movement had practiced “turn the other cheek” there would have been no Stonewall.
Oh Gawd Muir…I just lost my oatmeal reading your post. where IS my insulin?
I don’t even generally support the death penalty, but, lets face it, this is a special case, and I agree with Wayne…get a good taxidermist and stuff the SOB.
I think Obama should stuff him with copies of his birth certificate
Muir, think of the bullies you knew in school. Did their victim’s lack of retaliation ever stop the bully from repeating the offense? No, they only stopped if they experienced some repercussions for their actions and seeing that discouraged other would be bullies.
Wayne, you’re right. I heard on Thom Hartman show this PM that that douche bag Joe Scarboro (sp?) is already spinning this as ‘Obama’s liberal base will be upset that he took a life blah blah blah’; and postings like the ones above just support that absurd position. I’m sure some folks think taking a life for any reason is wrong, but I and all of my liberal friends are glad they finally removed that filthy maggot from the face of the earth. They said he ‘was buried at sea’, after gathering all the forensic evidence, I hope they just tossed his body out of the helicopter into the sea like a bag of garbage so the fish can pick away at it until nothing is left but a skeleton on the ocean floor. My sister worked down the street from the WTC and was knocked off her feet from the percussion of the planes hitting them. My mom was frantic until she heard from her. Across the street from where I work is a cemetery with a large grave stone of a young man (early 20s) who was killed in the WTC on 9/11. His parents even had the Towers etched onto his tombstone. When I go for my walk this afternoon, I’m going to walk over there and place another stone on the top of his grave marker (he’s Jewish), even though I never knew him nor his family.
@Emma hahahahahah, I love it.
My favorite line from this entire story is still the post tag at Wonkette: “Texas justice administered by Kenyan.”
Eat it, wingnuts.
I thought the action right.
The “celebration” put me off.
Much violence was given legitimacy by defining Osama as “Evil Incarnate.’
I do not believe in granting an “enemy” such power.
It was as if we performed some kind of ritual vengeance on evil.
PS…Wayne mentioned Hitler in his posting, I think it’s rather synchronistic that hitler killed himself on April 30th, 1945 and bin laden was killed on either april 29th or 30th…..and May 1st was Holocaust Memorial Day.
Osama has been taken out and it needed to be done. I’m not crying for him. Now let’s get the troops home and rebuilding the country Bush and his buddies trashed.
