This is completely rational:
Kyle at Right Wing Watch made that edited video, and here gives a little context for this version and also the extended version:
Last week, we noted that C. Peter Wagner had signed on as an endorser of Gov. Rick Perry’s “The Response” prayer rally. In that post, we recalled how claimed that the massive earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan earlier this year was because the nation is in the grip of paganism and that said paganism is the result of the fact that Sun Goddess had “sexual intercourse with the Emperor” of Japan.
Of course! The takeaway here is that when natural disasters or problems of any kind befall a state or a nation, that land’s leader must be schtupping a demon.
Duly noted.

I think that troll C. Peter Wagner is just envious of the emperor, because no succubus would ever want to have sex with him.
Uh…wow. Way to complete spit on another religion there, Pastor.
This comes from the belief that the Emperors are descendants of the sun goddess Amaterasu. Aaaand I don’t think Shintoism spawned from this one belief. :/
So this “pastor” believes in more than one god? Is that why Nagasaki – a city full of Catholics – was destroyed by this country with an atom bomb? Had the emperor had sex with the sun goddess the night before? By the way, how does a human have sex with a spirit?
I also wonder why it is that the god these right wing christians believe in destroys so many poor people in so many natural disasters. Could it be that it is simply that poor people often live in areas where natural disasters occur?
What a wonderful god they worship. He threatens and destroys people who don’t believe in him and do what he wants, and even if he misses them and hits other people, he hits other people as a veiled warning to the sinners – a warning which can only be interpreted by self anointed pastors asking for donations. I have known of some alcoholic fathers and psychotic mothers who behaved like this god. But I never knew any healthy and loving parents who behaved the same way.
mmmmmmmmmmm….spirits.
No matter how much I see, it’s still shocking to discover the depths of delusion that some people will sink to.
this just shows the abysmal ignorance of most fundies. This ignorance is one of the many reasons I would never have anything to do with this religion or its adherence.
The delusion level of fundies is off the charts. But not suprising since these are the same people who believe that the earth really is 6000 years old and that humans and dinosaurs coo-existed.
Patrick,
you wrote-
“Could it be that it is simply that poor people often live in areas where natural disasters occur?”
A little too simplistic.
Uhh, San Fran has known to have a quake or 2.
Most waterfront property owners are not poor but get hit by hurricanes, etc.
To drag strangers into the conversation, Jesus Christ Himself said, when asked about why people die in disasters, “Do you think these people died because they were the worst sinners of all? I tell you, they were not. But unless YOU repent, YOU will likewise perish.” Luke 13.
Keep in mind that Jesus was NOT addressing these words to homosexuals, pagans, atheists, or the Romans, but good old kosher-keeping, synagogue-going, Torah-tapping, family-values, faithful believing Jews.
What would Jesus say today? Probably something like this:
Do you think all those homosexuals who died of AIDS were the worst sinners in all the world? I tell you, they were NOT. But unless YOU repent, YOU will likewise perish.
What is this man’s reference, “proof” or what have you?
I thought Christians didn’t believe in other gods.
