Purported “ex-gay” Stephen Bennett went on Joy Behar’s show with his wife Irene to talk about being “ex-gay.” Wouldn’t you know it? He rattled off a story that included bulimia, drug abuse, promiscuity, molestation and everything else in the book, including the lack of a father figure! It’s the “ex-gay” Greatest Hits, so named because, as we all know, no person who falls victim to the “ex-gay” ideology ever comes from a place of belonging, self confidence or success. It only “works” when they can victimize someone who is already weak, by convincing them to blame everything bad in their lives on their sexuality.
The last three minutes of this video are some of the most insane television I have ever seen, as Stephen throws his jazz hands around and raises his voice to emphasize how hot he thinks his wife is, as she is absolutely losing it talking about transgender people. It’s almost as if Saturday Night Live decided to parody an “ex-gay” ministry.
Pray away the jazz hands, dude.

Freak show. The Bennetts are circus acts who probably arrived at the TV studio in the trunk of a Volkswagen, with 40 other clowns.
Stephen Bennett wasn’t gay. He was merely a mess on many levels. And although he evidently has his addictions under control and his former emotional issues resolved, he’s still a mess.
Jesus, what a mo, Joy ain’t buying it. And Oscar Wilde managed to father 2 kids as well, I guess he was just a struggling heterosexual.
i’ve no doubt there’s a gloryhole somewhere with his face behind it.
It is interesting how many of these guys were real messes before they went “ex”. Notice how hetero drug addicts never blame it on their sexual orientation.
Ugh. I particularly resent the ‘distant father’ cliche having seen how much damage it did to my own father.
If you want to live like heterosexuals because you think Jesus will hate you if you don’t, fine. Just stop lying and bullying to support your cause.
Stephen, You’re bisexual enough to function with a woman. I’m not. I’m 100% homosexual. If I could tell you what I went through trying to change until age 44, it would blow your mind. I only found happiness and contentment when I finally ADMITTED I was gay.
Jerry
love the jazz hands! and the “we don’t hate homosexuals even though I hate myself.” srsly, I think it was wayne who pointed out this script of cocaine addict/w***e who’s now living off ex-gayness. enough!
7:39-7:45 FTW!
What corn!

Stephen Bennett is lying when he says “we have nothing against homosexuals.” If you have ever listened to his radio show or other materials he’s published (I have) – he makes it sound as if all gay men are as irresponsible (with sex, drugs, and other things) as he was.
He is a liar.
Am I the only person who thinks Bennett has had a sex change…and the Mrs. is either clueless and/or is in on it? Let’s face it, the whole Bigots R Us and their ‘wedge issues’ are money making businesses.
Take a good look see at Bennett…
Mike, I can understand why you ask that. But it presents a technical problem: AFAIK, a person’s gender for marriage purposes goes by birth certificate, and if so, then they would be in a same-sex marriage. So I think we need to conclude that they both had a sex change, and thus their marriage still qualifies as “traditional.”
Richard says “AFAIK, a person’s gender for marriage purposes goes by birth certificate.”.
I’m pretty sure it varies from state to state with some going by sex at birth, and others accepting the reassigned gender after surgery which is a bit of a legal quagmire.
the wife prayed for that? she could have just gone down to the village or maybe the castro and found a “husband” this is the craziest s**t i have seen a awhile.
We were not required to submit/present birth certificates to get a marriage license nor for a the marriage ceremony….in our state that is.
Interesting find… apparently Steven’s brother is quite vocal in defending the rights of homosexuals — http://debategod.org/index.php/component/kunena/4-miscellaneous-questions/6081-gay-marriage-does-god-really-care?Itemid=0
George, are you certain that this is his brother?
