He signed some wingnut pledge from Maggie and the folks at the National Organization for Marriage. One of Dame Srivastav of the Bare Ring Finger’s missives where she pounds her fists on the table and continues to waste her life hating gay people, and wants to take the rest of the population down with her. Michele Bachmann signed it too. Strangely, Tim Pawlenty did not. He says he prefers to make his own video about wanting to institutionalize discrimination against gay people, where he says it in his own words.
“Pawlenty’s communications director Ann Marie Hauser, personally informed me on Tuesday that Tim Pawlenty would not sign NOM’s marriage pledge,” said Maggie Gallagher, chairman of the board of NOM. “Like many people, we are scratching our heads wondering why Gov. Pawlenty, who has been a champion for marriage in Minnesota, would not commit to doing so for America.”
He probably knows what an awful image NOM has, as one of the supreme distributors of bigotry in the United States of America, and wants to find a way to convince the base that he hates gays enough, without having his name tied to Maggie Gallagher’s in public.
If I were to hazard a guess…

That’s pretty surprising because not much good can come of it for Romney even though he is pro-marriage. The MSM is so blindingly pro-gay that I suspect this can only hurt Romney.
Wow. three idiocies in two sentences. SCORE!!
Tony–the Troll boat is back!
It is no surprise that Mitt would sign NOM’s pledge. NOM gets a large portion of their funds from the LSD church.
I think signing any type of ‘pledge’ like this is a form of fascism and probably unconstitutional. This reminds me of the ‘person oath of loyalty to Hitler’ that members of the German army and SS had to take. And of course being early 20th century Germans, they actually took it seriously.
