The American Psychological Association (APA) has endorsed gay marriage ahead of its annual convention in Washington.
With a unanimous 157-0 vote, the APA’s policymaking body approved the resolution on Wednesday.“Now as the country has really begun to have experience with gay marriage, our position is much clearer and more straightforward – that marriage equity is the policy that the country should be moving toward,” Clinton Anderson, director of APA’s Office on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Concerns, told USA Today.
Dear wingnuts: those are the experts. Not you.
The adults have spoken.

This is monumental for court cases and political rivalry.
The actual number is not over 100,000 but over 154,000 medical professionals are represented by the APA (USA TODAY).
If this doesn’t quiet the hate zone it should at least tone down their overly pervasive noise machine.
Let’s hope so. I don’t know what, if anything, can quiet or even tone down the truly hateful.
@ Merlyn,
Perhaps a ball-gag?
Great news.
“If this doesn’t quiet the hate zone it should at least tone down their overly pervasive noise machine”
Sorry to be a killer of buzz but those jackasses are still agitating to return homosexuality to the DSM, so this is likely to further rile them. Of course, the more they puke hate everywhere the more they gross people out so … Yay?
I understand that TWO affirms this APA statement, while it appears to disagree with this APA statement. “On the basis of the Task Force’s findings, the APA encourages mental health professionals to provide assistance to those who seek sexual orientation change by utilizing affirmative multiculturally competent and client-centered approaches that recognize the negative impact of social stigma on sexual minorities and balance ethical principles of beneficence and nonmaleficence, justice, and respect for people’s rights and dignity”
Is my assumption wrong? I am asking because I do not wish to misrepresent TWO’s position to others. (And this is a real, honest question. Not trolling!)
Jeremiah–if you’re not trolling you wouldn’t need to say you’re not. The fact is, you have a history of trolling and this hasn’t changed. Just like Boyne’s didn’t change.
