I know that Rick Perry is a True Believer, and probably doesn’t understand why most of the American public is repelled by hate groups such as the American Family Association, but I just don’t see how this will possibly play well outside the Bumpkin Base of the Republican Party if Rick wants to be preznit:

Tony, we know you have the intelligence of a Cabbage Patch Doll, but you wouldn’t think it was so ‘silly’ if you had to live as a black person under Jim Crow laws, or as a gay kid living in the bowels of the deep South.
It WON’T play well outside his right-wing base. Should Perry run for the presidency, his alliances with these odious groups will be a big-turn off for LGBTs, pro-choice people, non-Christians, and progressives.
Religion and politics DO NOT MIX! If Rick Perry gets even close to the White House, the United States will be in no better shape than the Middle East. Riddled in war! Wake up and take responsibility for your own life instead of praying God will fix everything for you!
