The NOM pledge contains a clause committing its signers to establish if elected, a presidential commission to investigate the “harassment” of anti-same sex marriage supporters. Time was, presidential commissions were formed to investigate rising violence against minorities, not minorities exercising their right to defend themselves from hate mongers and cheap political attacks.

Double Crikey.
The whole pledge is obnoxious, and constitutes harassment of LGBT Americans and their heterosexual family, friends and colleagues who support their equality. Signers, furthermore, are asked to appoint federal judges and attorney generals who “won’t create a special right to same sex marriage.” But, a federal judge has to consider law and the constitution, not commit to a strait-jacketed fascistic opposition to marriage equality. Signing the document (though it is non-binding) is almost an admission that the candidate doesn’t understand the function of a federal judge. As for that part of the pledge that asks the candidates to defend DOMA . . again, one does have to make actual legal arguments, not just pound one’s chest and say “I’m defending this with Jesus on my side!” or whatever it is they think they’re going to do in court.
Deplorable.
Obnoxious isn’t the word, more like putrid. The picture above says it all. I’m livid!!
I would love to see Maggie and Brian hauled to court to testify in some of these court cases about marriages of same sex couples. I would love to see them have to testify under oath and be cross examined by top notch attorneys and have be given dress downs by judges. I would love to have their religious arguments put on record and revealed in court for the garbage they are.
